so, you get picked up by space ship, they'll wisk you away
to strange and exotic places across the universe, they have
the best sound system in the universe and the only thing you
can bring with you is one album. thats your memory of earth.
what album would it be? and i don't care if this thread is
"pointless".

oh yeah, my album would be Saw 85-92. no, not very original,
but thats the soundtrack to my life during the past five or
so years.

Earth, I JUST got that album, and Da Capo. It's SO amazing.

''Sitting on a hillside
Watching all the people DIE''

Buh-rilliant.

But I'd have to say The Beatles White Album, they cover all
the bases and do it in style.

DrukQs,

cause it's been a year since I first downloaded it, and I
listen to it everyday
(evvvvvvverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry
daayyyeeeeee...heh) and it hasn't grown tired yet,

i find new stuff all the time.

i have every part of vordhosbn memorized in my mind, i can
go along with it perfectely when the song isnt playing (in
my head) but when it's playing it's harder to go alng with
it (go figure)

i can't stop listening to it and it hasn't become boring
yet.

best of all, it's a mix type record that isn't too heavy and
not too soft after the average.

I too would have to say druqks.. just because of the overall
sheer brilliance of the entire album... plus its got lots of
songs but still counts as 1 album, so I wouldn't have to
repeat songs as much.

i would take a nice little CD called "Every single piece of
music ever recorded" - it comes on 12,000,000,000 CDs and
has its own dwelling

never heard of that Love cd, have to check it out sometime.

smashing pumpkins arent necessarily my favorite band anymore
or even in my top 5 but they were the first band that got me
into liking muisc a lot. I have listened to siamese dream
and all their albums so much since 1994 (first time i heard
sdream )or so and theyre just so good. musically theyre not
the best band nowadays but theyre just something special and
magical about their music.

depends what mood i was in when choosing...if i was very
happy I'd def. take Scooter - push the beats for this jam,
if i was mediocre happy i'd take dafk punk - discovery and
any other mood i'd take Autechre - Incunabula

Forever Changes is one of my favorite albums of all time.
This is the first time I've ever heard anyone else mention
Love on this board. LeCoeur promised me she'd download
'Andmoreagain' several weeks ago though I doubt she ever
held to it... Do you have the cd reissue or the original
vinyl?

Something that I can listen to a zillion ka-trillion times
and still hear something different, it would be between
Selective Ambient Works II or Ok computer... in whatever
mood you are in you would hear something different.

For the record I thought of this before reading what xlr
wrote----but great minds think a like

<3 Peace.Love.Dope

yay!

i have a re-issue of the vinyl

four sail - the album which follows forever changes) has
just been re-released, although completely different in
style, its still amazing. more conventional electric guitar
combo and a completely different band.

i'd say the first 6 albums he did are all very good, after
that it goes downhill rapidly

1. love (1966) - garage
2. da capo - (1966) - acoustic folk-rock
3. forever changes -(1967) - folk-rock-psych
4. four sail (1969) - rock-psych
5. out here (1970) - etc
6. false start (1970) (feat. hendrix on 2 tracks)

out here reminds me of the white album in that it's rather
eclectic, going from folk to country to prog rock to
acoustic.

I've heard 'Forever Changes' - it's been getting quite a bit
more attention since last year (not sure why).

One album - can I have a book instead?

Autechre - 'Tri Repetae++' : best thing ever recorded ..

if I could sneak an extra into my jumpsuit, it might be some
Sonic Youth record, like 'Daydream Nation' or 'A Thousand
Leaves' just to balance things out..
