planet mu forum closes?

note that this thread exists from the last time the mu forum
shut down, so the first half (check the dates) are about an
earlier 'incident' (with MAHHH)

shit, really? Hrm :/

Could have done with some kind of announcement on the site
though. Felt like I was orphaned from my mu-friends for no
good reason :(

Woah!! I thought the board was down temporarily for
maintenance. What set it off this time? I thought everyone
was being fairly well behaved...

In spite of this grave news, I hope everyone has a Merry
Xmas!

oh hey man!

yeah, working on a lot recently. Just done a remix of my
mate Jilk's track for an EP out on our netlabel
(Bit-Phalanx). Got some vox from a Trinidadian MC - sounds
nasty!

Other remixes of friends' work on the way too. Hopefully a
T-toe download next year!

ahoy. I am an American. I like electronic music. I like to
make music and SFX. I am programming a game in old style
adventure. Not point and click, but zelda one. I am
drinking an imperial oatmeal stout brewed with peanuts. It
was made in Bellaire, Michigan. Merry Christmas. I love
you.

p.s. I have been on the µ boards for a long while, I was
all the quickshots, for example.

Yah, mu'fugess, wow. Happy CHAH-NURAVE-MAS-ZA. All. Weird
how mu folk are finding this place. I found it cuz it's the
only other music board I joined.

Or maybe we could all go back in time and hang out on
mp3.com.

I've heard VSnares used on Top Gear before I think.

Also, remember when there was a Snares sticker in the
background in NCIS, for a few episodes? That's because NCIS
is awesome

Oh NCIS is the slightly more conservative version right?
Though matey in New York is a republican. I like(d) Grissom.

NCIS is Naval Criminal Investigation Service, they
investigate dead marines etc. but it's generally more
light-hearted than CSI. Probably more right-wing too, cos
they gotsa take out them terrorists! USA! USA!

AWESOME

Yes, we're all lonely and sad on the inside or something.
Like we're all making tracks and aren't getting paid enough.

There will be about 10 people that'll read that.

Set up a shop and sell your music in one way or another if
you are after getting paid.

I don't think I could get use to this place.

If the phorum is perma-dead, then I'm sorry to hear it. 10
years of posting there!

Otter be a facebook group for the phorum, or is that silly?

offline jnasato from 777gogogo (Japan) on 2009-12-28 09:19 [#02355205]

Yah, the phorum was really an entity in itself. In the more
IDM days of the label, it was more music-centric with a lot
of the artists posting and shit, but then it just got
filtered into a fine mess of nonsense.

Too small to get out of control, but big enough to not be
pathetic. A lot of regular members with similar interests
in art/film/music/food/drugs/tech, but it was somewhat
spoiled and elitist in the sense that a lot of regulars
there had proper jobs.

Bullshit, plus fine living!!! What a charming balance
'twas.

offline jnasato from 777gogogo (Japan) on 2009-12-28 09:22 [#02355207]

Plus, the traffic was low enough that there was enough room
for netlabel and event spam, which I'm sure introduced a lot
of people to a lot of new music. Sometimes even good
music!!!!!

10 years+ for me too. i never understood why Mike P and
other artists didn't use it more... guess it just depends on
your personality/ how much you're willing to share,etc...

I like the way you cunts bang on about some forum but don't
have anything to say beyond "I liked the forum", "We had a

you cunts bark on about this forum? About a different forum?

Hey how about that I already had an account here. Hello mu
castaways. If that's true about the BBC thing, that's kind
of fucked in my inconsequential opinion. I guess radio play
is more improtant to the label than providing it's artists
with a place to promote their releases, promote their gigs
and interact directly with their fans. But the again music
is none of my business so fuck what I think.
