From Ananova

Ian Curtis movie planned

''The tragic life of Joy Division singer Ian Curtis is to be
made into a film.

Moby will act as musical adviser on the film which is the
brainchild of US producer Amy Hobby, reports Variety.

Curtis committed suicide, aged 23 in 1980, shortly before he
was due to tour the US. His bandmates evolved into New
Order.

The film is being made with the help of London-based Neal
Weisman, a friend of Factory Records former chief Tony
Wilson.

"Ian Curtis was a tragic romantic in the classic sense of
the word," Weisman told Variety at the Cannes Film
Festival.

"He always thought he would be famous as some kind of poet
and die by his mid-20s, and that's what happened."

The film is expected to start shooting next year. There are
no details of cast as yet.''

===================

I wonder who will play Ian and the gang?

Having Moby as the ''musical adviser'' is not something I'm
excited about.

The only half decent thing Moby ever did was "Go"

and even then, it wasn't all that and a bag of crisps.

not good

anyone have anything to say about it besides the mere
mention of moby?...he might just advise for soundtrack work,
actual Joy Division songs, you know...too many heart attacks
over a skinny bald guy here.

Hahaha, I knew Moby was going to be the focal point here.
But in our defense, there's not really any concrete
information to talk about with this film EXCEPT Moby. As
more info comes in, we will have additional info to bitch
and moan and complain about.

I want Jude Law to play Ian.
