yeah havent come across it but sounds very intriguing.. just listening to grama by crunch..a bit more interesting than the other track..I think I am getting the concept... it's basically very pleasant ambient stuff..with a lot of gentle glitch goin on underneath..quite cool actually...maybe you should recommend some Delarosa and Asora to wMw..it's in the similar vein..only the melodic ambient stuff here is very..um conventional and organised

From crunch, try "art pylon" first and then "toe tac tic". Those are 2 of my favorites, I forget which one is gamma...

yes...prefuse73 is also delarosa+asora..
that x00000 thing you were talking about reminds me a bit of steve reich's 'music for 18 musicians' ...he has the musicians play really short repetitive notes...like pulses...and every few minutes someone plays a few notes on the metallophone...to signal everyone to switch into the next 'movement' and the patterns mutate slightly...and it goes on like this for a while...whats interesting is that no electronic instruments are used...
but the way they did it..it sounds like a few notes on a lot of delay..that continues and changs gradually... its very cool

On crunch's album, the good songs tend to be toward the end IMO... the very last song is very crunchy, and a quick download, but try art pylon or toe tac tic, they own.

Some tracks on crunch "1" are some of my favorite made by anyone, but some are kinda average... it's like he put his creations on the cd in the same order he created them... so the latter ones seem way more evolved. Track 9 through the rest of the album are amazing, the others are interesting to see where his style evolved from. it's also great on headphones because it uses a lot of panning. I think it was track 10 it sounds like he used sounds from crunching on potatoe chips to make a really profound statement open to interpretation.

I like matmos a lot too (if you were asking me) "a chance to cut..." is playful and great, I love the song where they say a word and play a sound corresponding to that word, then make a song out of it.. its funny.

oh, yeah track 4, that one is quite good I think too, but it has a linear beat compared to something like art pylon which is just insane. Track 5 is really good too and a short little kinda funny super weird song.

I'm mostly impressed with how the sound morphs... and really weird stuff, like in track 2 i think, the sound turns into a car and drives off! taking the doppler effect into account no less... on headphones are pylon is wicked, I love the end, how that rice krispie popping mutates into water splashing or something, that is just stunning to me. THat rice krispieish popping is such a weird and perfect unexpected sound to use in the first place...

whenever I hear that popping part, my cerebellum grows and my cerebrum shrinks...
if those are the correct terms or something
