The Plague is a great book! Have you read Nausea by Sartre?
Also a top-notch book.

I'm reading Magister Ludi, also known as The Glass Bead
Game, also known as Das Glasperlenspiel. It's pretty dry so
far, but a lot of Hesse's stuff seems to be like that at
