please, for the love of god, get rid of the apostrophe in
"your's" on that banner ad. i'd not seen it today. it's so
big and emphasised i think it'd drive me insane if i didn't
have adblocker at home.

also, in that thread aneurysm or whatever made yesterday you
said intensions when I'm pretty sure you meant intentions
and even then it wasn'a particularly good sentence.

it is, but if you criticise it regardless of its situation,
people will hate you.

there's more of an excuse for criticising it when it's on a
billboard, banner, sign outside a shop, etc etc etc

normal everyday writing and billboard writing are closely
connected. I see more and more spelling errors in ads,
subtitles, newspapers and other places where you'd expect
people to check that what they write is correct (not always
true for all newspapers), but people see the words spelled
wrong everywhere so they assume that's how to spell them.
The most common error I see these days is the norwegian
"Ã¥/og" (to (as in front of a verb: to jump)/and) error. In
most dialects these are hard to distinguish when you say
them, and this has spread to written language, resulting in
og (and) soon disappearing to be replaced with å (to) which
would end up meaning both "to" and "and." This is an all too
common error that first started with fourteen year old
girls, but now has spread to everything because people see
it everywhere (fourteen year old girls sure get around) and
think it's the correct way to write it.

"I'll try and avoid doing the laundry tomorrow."

sorry for all the spelling/grammar mistakes. i'll try and
improve in the future..... i tend to get more and more lazy,
but at the same time too quick to actually correct and fix
before i post messages/articles.

did i mention spelling will get much better in v2? ;)

isn't that sentence correct, though?

anyway, you still have both words.. we're about to loose
one, and the results are a bit more strange, like "I would
like cake to[and] tea" or "sticks to stones may break my
bones."

lol :)

drunken mastah: ah, i see, it's happening the other way
around in Norwegian. In some cases in english, "and" has
adopted the meaning of 'to' (in the sense of the infinitive
verb)...

"to" adopting the meaning "and" is completely bizarre.

and as for that sentence being correct, yes, people will
understand you, but if you look at the logic of it... how
can you try to do the laundry AND avoid doing the laundry
simultaneously?

yeah, the shorter (by one letter) å is winning over og,
but, unlike in england where one couldn't be mistaken for
the other in sound, and you retain both words, we're about
to actually loose one, and I don't know of many cases where
words have actually gone away.. I mean, there are words that
are very very very rarely used (like "skavl" (the part of a
waterwheel that captures the water or even a sort of sharp
outcropping in snow)), but they don't disappear like og is
about to...
