not so much analyse and learn, more of an journal entry for
an experience that had alot of impact. I'm not going to
study this, but I am going to learn from it.

Combining two different drugs at once is an interesting
idea.

If a friend of mine did drugs and then started crying and
pissing himself, I would have a laugh, bully him and post
pics of the happening on the net.

The swelling of hands/hands too big thing seems to be
strangely common. It's weird to think that certain
substances can have such specific effects on humans. Why big
hands? I suppose that most people will end up looking at
their hands a least a little... and size distortion of all
things is common... but is that enough to make big hands
common?

that's easier said than done, i find. i thought similarly
before an intense trip on mushrooms, but i overlooked the
fact that afterwards you can be left with strong mental
associations that are difficult to shrug off, and just take
time to go away

I spent ages runnning this "sand" through my fingers.

Yeah I've had that too... it can be good I guess. I'm sure
youve met one of these people whos had some immense acid
experience and is convinced they understand something that
nobody else can comprehend.. that's what's daft/annoying

Out of all the "mad shit" in that story, the weirdest bit,
for me, was Gwelly's "sitter" suggesting he knocks one out.
If I had a friend in those circumstances I'd suggest
drinking orange juice/watching the Fast Show/eating a
sandwich/ having a shower / a cup fo tea. I wouldn't say
"Hey, look, just pop it out and crack one off, it's fine"
and that's nothing to do with being anti-bender, it's just,
for me, the strangest suggestion to make to someone ripped
to the tits on the ill mush.

one, now with this story i'm scared for life.

suposeddly sucking a lemon takes you out of a shroom trip.

It was said out of best intentions. From what he observed, I
kept saying that all I feel is tension and restriction,
while making constipated sounds. This was because I had
forgotten what my bladder was and that I needed to take a
piss. I also kept saying that I needed to be knocked out and
fall asleep. He suggested masturbation cause we all know
that knocks you out after a good wank. It didn't bother me
much, he was seeing his friend go crazy and suggested
anything out of the blue.

thanks gwely, that's a riveting story...

Having studied erowid reports intensively, none of the
phenomena encountered are exactly novel (except for the
people involved, obviously!), but first hand experience
really teaches one more than simply reading about something.

For some, bad trips are all they get, for others it's
positive from cradle to grave. The rest of us are stuck in
the middle territory, just like in life generally: there are
good moments and there are bad ones. C'est la vie.

Masturbation might go down better with only weed involved,
and showers are likewise known to calm one down, but
shrooming is unpredictable enough to make every sitter's job
a uniquely creative effort. The same with all hallucinogens
and entheogens.

Weed is powerful enough for me (beer is harmful so I don't
drink) for the time being. Until one has reached
such-and-such a level (of clarity and confidence) one
shouldn't overreach into the unknown. This is not an
admonition, merely a precaution.

I think the "normals" out there should remember that no one
can say anything rational and apt about things they have no
experience of (just like a father shouldn't claim to know
about birth pains of a mother), and that experience is
always unique.

wow man, my first bad trip was very very similar to what you
explained. i think it was the excessive amount of weed i
smoked while peaking on a huge dose of LSD. I've written
about it several times on this forum actually.

I became lost in my own head, didn't know where i was in the
house i was tripping in. hallucinating so intesely that i
couldn't tell whether my eyes were open or shut. unable to
communicate with people around me because i couldn't tell
whether i was speaking the words or just thinking them, let
alone string together a cohesive sentence. for me it went
on for a good 5-6 hours, i feared it would go on longer
though, because of the size of the dose i had taken. pure
mental torture. eventually i just came down enough that i
could muster a bit of control which was such a relief.

anyway, i know exactly the feeling of hopelessness and
confusion that you described, and it ruined hallucinogens
for me pretty much completely. after my first bad trip,
every trip thereafter was tainted in a way. even the good
ones, always that animal was lurking in the background and
of course, the more i thought about it, the bigger it
became.

Well said. I don't think I can do drugs anymore after that.
When I quit weed 2 years ago because of constant bad trips,
I started up again and there was always that feeling
lurking, like this could get bad, and thinking about it
manifested it more.

Sounds like you had a terrible time, did time seem to cease
for bits of it? Like you felt eternally insane? That was
horrid.

yeah, for a good 2 hours, i just layed in my friend's
parent's bed room but in my head i would keep getting up,
walking downstairs and falling into the basement. then i'd
open my eyes and i would still be upstairs in the bedroom.
i'd get up again and walk down stairs and fall into the
basement. this went on for what seemed like ages and as far
as i know, and i can't be sure, i was in that bedroom the
whole time. luckily the worst of it only lasted about 2-3
hours. but i distinctly remember asking my friends to knock
me out because i thought i couldn't take it any more.
asking them for Nyquil or something, anything. maybe they
couldn't hear me though. at that point i couldn't tell if i
was talking or just thinking words.

I really think that weed was the kicker though. smoking all
that weed just as we were peaking. i just couldn't keep up
with my own thoughts. that summer i had a day job at a
summer camp for retarded kids. i kept thinking that i had
"gone over the edge" and that now i was like some of them.
it was pretty awful.

weed was definitely the kicker, it amplifies the hell out of
anything. I was peaking on shrooms when I did some. I bet I
would have had a great trip if I hadn't.

I remember one particularly funny/pathetic occasion when a
friend of mine sloppily jogged up and down a 100 yard
street.
When he came shambling back, grinning, I asked him
"Why'd ya do that?"
"'Cause I can run for miles really fast on weed, I don't
feel the burn at all."
Apparently in his head he'd ran about six miles at an
olympic pace.

i probably tripped a dozen or so times after my bad bad one,
but it was never as good, eventually i just stopped trying
to have a good trip and gave up hallucinogens all together.
the thought of it just kinda scares me now. don't know,
maybe some day i'll try a tiny bit, just to see 'cause i
definitely had some great times. but it would have to be a
small amount, away from any responsibility, and away from
any crowds with a few people that i trust. and definitely
without any weed mixed in.

It happens to us all eventually although your experience is
a whole lot worse than anything that I had ever had. As for
your friends Mom buy her a big bunch of flowers with a thank
you note. She sounds pretty cool and level headed enough to
get you through this. By the sound of it your tripping days
are past, hell you can only do it for so long before stuff
gets a bit too scary.

You should write proffesionally, I rarely read threads this

I like to get a tiny bit stoned on weed. Not get blasted.
That keeps the anxiety at bay. THE most visual acid trip I
ever had was combining good acid with a rip from a nice
glass bong of kind bud. I would have gotten very nervous
with just the weed, but I just had the best time while on
acid. No anxiety. The opposite and I sat and stared at
floating polygons with images in them for hours on end. It
all started when I followed a reflection off something. It
was a mazing and it probably got triggered by the weed.

i could be entirely wrong here, but it seems wrong to give
up psychedelics after a bad trip. it was all in your mind.
are you going to give up thinking too?

i've never had a trip this bad, and i'm not looking forward
to one, but when you create hell in your mind (because it's
not the shrooms, not the acid or any other substance for
that matter) you know there is an evil in there which should
be found and conquered.

If this is possible by means of ego death and being reborn
(and with that becoming 'enlightened' and/or 'liberated'
(these are very abstract terms to me since i do not know
these states of mind so i type them in this way) then i
think this is what you should pursue, and psychedelics are
your tools if you do not know the ways of zen buddhism.

not saying you blame the substance, and i do think it is
wise to wait for a long time until you trip again. i just
wonder if you're sure about this yourself. about giving up
psychedelics, knowing that this will never get you an answer
as to why you were drawn into a world of pain, fear, horror
etc..

my typing/wording is shit today but i hope you get the idea.

Your right, but it is the memory of "the bad one" that stops
you having the foundation of well being that is essential to
all good trips.
I found that smoking weed does nothing when I was tripping
apart from hurt my throught in the morning. I always enjoyed
an LSD/MDMA combination.

I believe in life we must go through different 'faces' ,
each facial expression representing a different emotion.
These emotions have a corresponding energy, and these energy
fluktuations influence not only our mood in life, choises or
(in)direct -> our 'surroundings', but also has a direct
link with the afterlife / 'ghost' world. The ghostworld
feeds on the energy from our emotions, bad or good.

A spirit with 'evil' intent can feed on the fear of someone
in a badtrip, sometimes directing them towards suicide and
death.
Beware of drugsl. Now go watch some aurora's:

I used to date a girl that shared a student house with a
load of ravers, they would come back from shitty trance
nights off their faces on trips and pills. They were all
fucking terrified of "negative vibes". If the conversation
turned towards anything on a downer, they'd skip out of the
room humming to themselves. I couldn't fucking stand them,
they listened to the worst commercial "hard dance" going and
were the most boring, pedestrian squares you'd ever be
likely to meet.
Every other sentence ended with "On a mission." One of them
told me to take Daft Punk's Da Funk off the stereo because
it was "depressing".

The thing about finding your inner issues (in this case evil
abberations) and facing them and conquering is easier said
than done. I'm sure many trippers would agree with me when I
say this: If something horrific surfaces, it comes with a
set of emotions, namely anxiety and terror, therefore you
cannot just shake it off and say bring it on. It overwhelms
any form of optimism to face it.

I'm not doing psychedelics anymore, because something came
out during this trip that can't just be attributed to a bad
trip, it was some inner conundrum. Now that it came out, I
can approach it in therapy maybe. But taking drugs again to
reface it may cause even more problems, I may not come back
next time. There are some people who end up in hospitals for
decades because of that kind of heroic self conquering
attitude.
