Also, in your inital post, "...I'm planning on getting everything I do published before my material is submitted to anyone." Unless you're planning to set up your own record label before sending out demos (which I don't think, from your post, is what you're asking), how is this logically possible? You will have to submit it to someone before they publish it. Even if they (insanely) agreed to publish it before hearing it, you'd still have to submit it first. |

you know theo, this is music, not a secret formula for turning coal into gasoline. You don't have to get it patented before revealing it to the world. I guarantee if you post a short snippet or two of music, no one's going to steal it and get rich off it. Do you have any idea how many producers are floating around out there? Take the easy availability of fast computers and cracked software, the numbers of people who've tried to use them and the idle hours available to them on evenings and weekends - or even all day all the time if they're lazy bums being supported by their parents. That adds up to a lot of beats. Do you think anyone will even notice yours? The more you build yourself up, the greater the anticlimax will be when you actually post a boom tish boom tish with a little gangsta whine behind it. |
