I agree. Most artists are just making music that appeals to
them and fans are going farther than the path leads. But
still, when you're an artist making music like this, there
will always be some hard core fans ranting about the
tech-babble of it all. It's complex, it's intelligent, it's
personal.

okay but that's just the whole thing about arts isn't it ??

beethoven, mozart, picasso whoever with a "big name" today.
- would you tell him then that he is creating masterpieces,
new directions in art, would he believe you?

phuker: if they have really said things like this in
interviews then their just unconscious of what they are
actually doing.

mozart didnt create many new directions, he was just fucking
good at what he did. do they say mozart was doing things
never done before, or was he an eight year old who could
write symphonies? if mozart were alive today he'd writing
songs for britney spears and madonna - he was a pop artist.

theres never really any one artist/band/what-have-you who
trancends humanity and changes art to an absurd degree. its
the little steps each band takes from its influences that
lead to the huge changes. of course, culture needs some one
person to idolize so it picks the most obvious/favorite
candidate and makes a demi-god out of him.

so i guess your comment about their "unconcious" efforts
makes sense, but not in the way i think you meant it.

mozart was maybe a bad example but i think you know what i'm
talking about.

okay - arts can be made the way you mean it - smoke crack
and shit around with the gear.

but ae already have cultural status.

wow. ur comparing my music to autechres? trying to say i
have no merit because an unsigned, hobby-ist musician doesnt
compare to an established, extremely talented artist?

oh and for the record, i dont smoke crack. never have, hever
will. on the other hand, i do smoke a bit of weed, but
guess what!? so do sean and rob. and rich. and pretty much
all those warp guys you idolocize so much.

show me the part where i was comparing your music to
autechres ? i haven't even listened to your music...

and i don't idolocize "all those warp guys" - come on i mean
you are trying to do a conversation or you just want to
flame me now ?

and how do you know ? maybe i'll like your music (when i
have finally heard it like them) and i will be able to say
something like above about your music too after a few of
your albums.

it's not that a hobby musician doesn't affect arts, just
look that ae have 9 albums behind them.

they are real guys making real music. i mean just guys and
just music. building philosophy and piles of interpretations
around them and their music is a waste of time.

just listen and enjoy.

autechre are heavily influential because they are heavily
original and good at what they do. as far as the impression
it leaves on listeners, its highly varied, cause its so
original and raw, either you like that shit or you dont and
lately its more of that raw stuff

i think most people who are heavily into it can look past
the music and sort of try to find some deeper meaning in it

but thats just the thing, theres never any real defined
feeling, its not like ltj bukems progession sessions where
the themes obviously sex and release themed throughout, its
left up to you to make a meaning

but yeah when i was liek 16 - 18 and real hard into their
stuff i was like OH MAN IM LIKE BEING CONTACTED BY ALIENS
AND SHIT,MAN, THIS IS LIKE THE MEANING OF LIFE THESE GUYS
ARE ZETA PROTOTYPE ALIEN HYBRIDS and while thats not wrong
or right thats the meaning i assigned to it mostly cause i
was not real mature.. ill bet it is embarassing to be
autechre and read messageboards where people are saying
youre like trying to get them in contact with the zeta
hybrid elites and sending them on mental journeys to planet
X and shit you know what i mean??? now to me its just the
best beats and overall best music i am aware of both cause
my brain is hard-trained to the style and cause... well its
fucking fat...
