me : In Utero was always the last shout of a depressed
man to me. and it sounded really hard.

you : i disagree that in utero is a softer album than
nevermind, that's totally insane. it's way harder than
nevermind.

???

Combo: I agree, it is a concrete, irrefutable fact that
there are posts in this thread (which is, in fact,
also a fact that this is a thread made up of posts.)

Cygnus: Yes, Ae might very well be exempt from this topic.
They've about 15 years of experience on cranking out
electronic music, and they still seem to be without any
apparent signs of long-term fatigue. Of course, non-Ae fans
or ex-Ae fans might argue otherwise.

Oh, you're so wrong man. The former members of Kobong and
Sparagmos now in Nyia and Antigama have never played
harder.

decible rating = testosterone rating
also, the more you yell unintelligably and break your
instrument, the hairier your scrotum is.

If you play any sort of soft music, it's to appear sensitive
and non-threatening to lovesick teenage girls. If
applicable, the singer's voice increases amount of said
teenage girl fans exponentially as its pitch/range
increases.

arctic monkeys are a nice example. they're being compared to

pop rock band compared to clash..

they're a fuggin easylistening pop rock band compared to
clash..

and that's really saying something, because i would describe
the clash as easy listening pop rock.

the clash is one of those bands that music reviewers like to
say influenced things when they have nothing better to say.

well, in my opinion clash had that same quality (not in that
big proportions though) as nirvana when it comes to sound
itself. they too have a harsher and a more mellow side to
their music, though they were never as harsh as nirvana. but
they were pretty harsh for their time.

if you think the clash were harsh for the late-70's, you
need to hear some 70's punk rock. ;)

i don't know it that well im affraid. i know ramones and
velvet underground, though you probably think of something
more in terms of the stooges..i like them all :)

well, i was talking about more underground stuff, but even
the ramones were way rougher than the clash.

underground punk rock.

No knowledge needed. Sex Pistols where made to promote
clothes, 25 years later some bitch sings a song about a kid
who rides a skateboard, punk sells clothes again.

I agree completely, bands are puss now. These HUGE BIG TUFF
ROCK BANDS keep suckering me into listening to them, but in
the end waste my time with their cloned BAND X cock cheese.

Vsnares is where it`s at for violent music that isn`t
stupid.

R4of, I love you but,

"so music appreciation is completely dependant on age for
you? you reach a certain age and then it's time to grow up
and move on from what you used to be passionate about? time
to settle down?"

Nothing is worse then listening to a band that you know is
fake. Like if they are singing about when they were young or
whatever that is fine.

I don`t like it when some saturated old fuck has this image
like he doesn`t CARE that nothing CONTROLS HIM and that he
is like you, me and EVERYONE ELSE. Then you see him on some
TV show at some desk with 5 executives talking about selling
t-shirts and who they are going to market their new reality
T.V. show too.

MOTORHEAD is a real OLD rock band. Lemmy is like 900 and
still kicks ass. They sell lots of shirts and thats fucking
fine man, they rock!

Music appreciation is completely dependant on age BUT ALSO
intention for me. If your 60 great, but don`t LIE TO ME TO
SELL YOUR CD. Don`t FRONT YOUR FAKE PERSONA and not admit
that it`s REAL,TRUE, and ask for my money.

i was talking about.

what gets me is how artists like cat stevens are emotionally
harder than just about anything. and how the blunt edges of
bands like the velvet underground create a huge wall of
sound.
