Wore these cassettes out.

Slayer - South Of Heaven
Depeche Mode - Music For The Masses
Minor Threat - Minor Threat
Meat Beat Manifesto - Satyricon

Not in any particular order.

Bola - Soup
Marilyn Manson - Mechanical Animals
Autechre - Draft 7.30
Soundgarden - Down on the upside

I have been playing specific songs off these albums for many
years.. But I do tend to get fanatical about many
albums/songs.

Hey, Combo, that's a great question!

And the answer? Easy! It's "A Hard Day's Night" by those
lovable rag dolls otherwise known as The Beatles. Shit,
that cassette never left the car player when I was a kid.

Runners-up: Siamese Dream and Highway 61 Revisited

either...
green day - dookie
beck - odelay
radiohead - ok computer
aphex twin - druqks
daft punk - coachella 2006

all were the defining albums of a period of my life, prolly
a few years each, and i don't think i could narrow it down
to one, but possibly daft punk just because of mp3 players
and shit - i had that looped on headphones for months.

offline MASUGNEN from Lund (Sweden) on 2009-11-21 05:36 [#02345696]

Kate Bush: Hounds of Love (1985)
Joy Division: Unknown Pleasures (1979)
U96: Das Boot (1991)
V.A.: Nordic Rave (1995)
Daft Punk: Homework (1996)
The Cure: Seventeen Seconds (1977)
Aphex Twin: SAW85–92 (1992)
Plastikman: Sheet One (1993)
Regina Spektor: Soviet Kitch (2004)
Bear Quartet: Saturday Night (2005)

Did I get all the years right? Everyone of these is probably
surpassed by numerous Best Of-mixes.

smashing pumkins - mellon collie and blabla
rage against the machine - evil empire
nofx - heavy petting zoo

and later, all of aphex albums

offline pidgin from St Kilda on 2009-11-21 11:44 [#02345727]

probably "paul's boutique", although "dots+loops" and
"mutations" would be very close behind

offline Indeksical from Phobiazero Damage Control (United Kingdom) on 2009-11-21 12:35 [#02345741]
Points: 10671 Status: Regular | Show recordbag

First one that popped in to my head. I've bought it three
times.

Other contenders are probably Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese
Dream, Gomez - Liquid Skin, DJ Vadim - U.S.S.R. Life From
The Other Side, Cinematic Orchestra - Every Day and B12 -
Electro Soma.

I don't listen to albums over and over again anywhere near
as much as I used to. Probably has something to do with
having instant access to thousands of songs.

Oh also that Ninja Tune Xen Cuts compilation, Radiohead -
The Bends, Bon Jovi - Slippery When Wet, Eels -
Electro-Shock Blues or Beautiful Freak. There's some others
too. Basically I don't have a bloody clue.

I hate this thread.
