Sennheiser HD 500, very comfy and sound good. I think they
are supposed to be closed but they do make quite a lot of
outside noise.

I have Grado SR80. The sound is excellent and they aren't
actually uncomfortable for me. Some of my friends though
can't really wear them at all.

i got these ones as a christmass gift from my mom
akg k171 studio =D made me very happy, im planning to use
these for all the future music making instead of using my
older sony mdr something hmm wich is OK.. but they dont have
the clear sound i want when making music.

I have hardly had the time to really try out my new
headphones, first impression is great.. i just hope i dont
realise that something is wrong/weird later

pair of sony something's, they're grey and rather large and
cost about AU$140 but work reasonably well.

i'm staying with a mate currently that has a pair of
sennheiser .... jesus christ the bastard's fucking hid them
so i can't see what they are. they're rad in any case,
think they're worth close to AU$1000 and sound clear as hell
- they tend to put pressure/suction on your ears though so i
don't find them comfortable at all. they'd be nice for
producing music and the like (which is what he does), but
for casual music listening, i wouldn't find myself using
them. neither does he, i think (but he's god a rad alesis
speaker setup which does well for that; listening to gimmik
on it now, the frequency range is niiiice).

i'm happy with mine, at least, for now.

actually right now i'm wearing a US$15 mono mic/headset
thing designed for helpdesk/VoIP usage; it does well for
that but jesus they're the worst headphones i've ever used.

those AKG have amazing dynamics and detail. The onlything i
dont like is, they are slightly heavy, and you cant lay down
and listen to music as the mercury sensors turn the
headphones off when they aren't in use (aka: upright
position).

Anyone have any experience with noise cancelling headphones,
like on planes? I really want to get a nice pair that really
blocks out unwanted noise for long trips and such...

heres what i'm currently using:

eh2200 Seinhiessers (apparently discontinued)

Amazingly lightweight and good response. Crystal clear in
the lower frequencies...

I have the grado sr-80's too. I hardly use them. Although
they sound great. They are kind of a pain in the head cause
I wear glasses. Not comy with glasses. I am thinking of
selling them. Do people buy used headphones? I mean, they
are basically new. I've worn them a total of 5 or 6 times.

Koss UR20

UAH 115 ~ $20

i had to weld their plug at least 8 times and now it's time
for the 9th. Not very good headphones. Enough to be used
while working, nothing more. More-less good headphones here
cost $50 and more.
