Racism has to be the stupidest thing ever anyway. "Oh noes! teH skin is a different colouring!!!1" I just don't understand how it came about or why it even exists. Perhaps this just shows my desperate ignorance, but really...why? I suppose it's in human nature to create divisions. |

can i just say sorry if anyone here took offence at what i said and assure them that i'm not a racist. Dog belch is right is by saying "you can't just say what i said"; i should have known better seeing as i have many black friends who aren't anything like the stereotype. Anyways life goes on aslong as we learn from our mistakes. |

It's one of those cases where a perhaps unfortunate use of words were interpreted a bit harshly, and for my part I do apologise in any antagonisment. We need to be careful waving the accusation "racist" around, young i_x_ten in particular, and let's not, let's not, create problems where there is blissful harmony. |

i don't think it's exclusively a Vancouver thing to overcompensate, i used to like a lot of minorities for no reason (especially Blacks) other than that i felt really bad about all the racism their people might have experienced in the past (of course this is silly, and perhaps even verging on racism in and of itself? i'm not sure, racism is a tough thing for me to define)... that said i don't want to pretend like their aren't racists in Canada or anything... Canada's dirty little secret is how piss-poorly we treat the indigenous peoples... |

To be honest I have witnessed more racism in Canada than anywhere else I have lived, mainly directed at asian people. It alway disgusts me when I hear someone from my generation spouting racism |

fair point...although I'm sure overly politically correct people would say that it's poking fun at racism rather than being a race joke in itself. a non racist race joke would be something which is funny yet in no way puts down one race or makes them inferior to another...though i can't think of any there must be some examples. |

it's highlighting the mentality of a stereotypical, partly educated (by that i mean just primary and secondary education) white person. Stereotypes are usually racist so the picture is racist. By the way I know sombody who is just like the white person in the pic, it's quite funny listening to him rant on about the "inequalities" of todays society. |

what a nonsense it just makes fun of the fact people sometimes far too quickly call someone a racist (like in this thread) when an observation or remark is made about a black or white person. like here, the black person sais he hates himself, and the white person concludes "that means he hates black persons and that means he's a racist". of course in this pic it's absurd, but it happens often that people are being called a racist when they only say something involving someone black or white. man it's too stupid too even talk about |
