I find the first half of this track absolute bullocks. I
think people are trying to like it too much.

Conversely, I do enjoy elements of the second half of the
track.

the track does remind me a little of a not-so-good variation
of 'Second Bad Vilbel' off Anvil Vapre.. I don't get the
praise heaped on it by ecnadniarb. It's nothing special and
people criticised it as a bit lacking for a reason. :D

'LCC' I was talking about. A not so striking variation of
2nd Bad Vilbel

'LCC' - a not-so-good slowed down variation of 'Second Bad
Vilbel'. I think I nailed it. I like the track though,
don't get me wrong.

Just wait...most of these people who are saying the album is
crap now will fall in love with it once it is officially
released. There is so much there.

I think some of you have got confused, after the first post
in this topic none of my other replies have been about LCC
specifically.

I'll just sit back and wait for the rush of "I must have had
one of the fake versions", "The MP3's I had were rubbish and
I didn't hear XXXXX or XXXX in XXXX", "It took me xxxxx to
understand it but now I am ejaculating my semen over it".

The best way to discribe the album is a more sinister middle
persiod ae sound (Chiastic Slide era) but with
Confield/Draft production techniques and values.

i know what you mean, but it is much SEXIER than Chiastic
Slide! i think that this is most like Confield - but it has
really topped it, i think.

IT IS EXTRAORDINARY!

It is better than both Chiastic and Confield. But it has
the drive their music around Chiastic era had, but with the
Confield techniques. It's hard to explain though. It's
just awesome :)

I could see that.
I must confess I just got earjams for my iPod and
listened again to the album. The production does sound a
bit better, but I still think its sorta muddy in the ways
that Draft differed from Confield in its clarity.
Similarily, I think there a moments that are ace, but like
Draft I just think it drags on, where the songs become more
about atmosphere and less about being songs. I guess thats
my issue when it comes down to it. I like the tight
production since ep7 (esp. Confield), I just find myself
drifting sometimes when the tracks seem somewhat unresolved.

ut you are listening to poor quality MP3's...I remember
hearing Confield on MP3 (long after I had bought the CD) and
it changes the whole dynamic of the album, it made it sound
as you described muddy and it lost so much of what made it
great.

Just out of interest did you listen to Confield on MP3 or
CD?

Honstly with autechres recent music you need to have it on
CD to fully appreciate it.

Is this still the leak that hasn't been varified whether or
not its the actual release?

I forsee a lot of people with egg on their face, crows egg
that they are eating, when the release actually comes out.
Whether or not it is the actual album or not.

Confield :: CD
'Untilted' :: mp3 (avg. rate 192-256) <--- still sounded
like poo

When I say poo, I mean dramatic differences between volume
in songs
or songs not seeming like they 'flow' from one to the other.
Also, Pro Radii is almost deafening at its intro. Thick as
fuck, but not in a badass way. Almost annoying.

One more thing (just reread a post below)...

Augmatic Disport. I like too, but cant shake the similarity
between Gantz_Graf. What do you think of the dubby 4/4
break down at the end?
WTF?

it's the SHIT!

i think they play off each other fine. their earlier EPs
didn't necessarily play off each other, they consisted of
strong tracks that stood beside one another - and this is
what's happening in Untilted. 8 solid tracks. through
repeated listens, they'll play off each other because you'll
get used to it.

Wasn't it stated previously that they actually sent that out
to certain media companies as a pistake? I know this seems
to be a stretch, but autechre are quoted many times as
hating the media, and they really don't care what the media
says about them? I definately see them pulling something off
like that. Its something that most other bands are too pussy
to do, but autechre seem to like the drama of fucking with
their fanbase...

that info wasn't from a reliable source, but it IS known
that the first leak has been handed out as promo's for the
album, and it's rare for a promo to be very different from
the released cd, any theories about 'releasing previous fake
versions to fool media' is ridiculous, and irrational
speculation (as far as I'm concerned)

My friend got the promo from warp recently and it is
definitely the same as the first leak. There's no dummy
promo or anything like that and people really should stop
spreading rubbish like that. I listened to the album
properly the other night and thought it was brilliant - a
lot more energetic than Confield and Draft, light-hearted at
times, they even use the classic "frresh" sample near the
end, which I loved. I'm not going to listen again now until
the proper release, I'm looking forward to it a lot.

Oh well. I have stopped trying to assume as to whether or
not it was authentic. The information you are giving me is
just as 'reliable' as the other info as far as I am
concerned. I am going to wait untill I have a copy in my
hands before I make any judgement. I like the leak, but it
just doesn't feel right, imo. I will be happy either way.

I am more concerned that the album art that someone posted
the other day is authentic, cause that shit looked lush.

And a lot of media releases such as that do end up being
different than the album that gets released. Expecially when
the media release is about 4 months before the actual
release date. I know it is the same in the film industry,
where the press screenings will usually be versions than the
finished film. Versions that are roughly edited, or not
finished color treatment.

hear leak 2 first and thought that was untilted - :( - but i
then downloaded this and knew it to be the one, i ve
listened to leak one a lot now and really like it - it is
certainly better than confield imo, but i can see why some
people might not like it as it is more gescom than autechre.

1) It's not early to release the promo.
2) It's more expensive to produce cassettes than CD's so why
bother.
3) You are a prick.
4) Get the fuck out of my topic of love.

Also for the fools saying they sent out a fake to the

but Warp aren't going to want to potentially effect

a) Untilted album sales by releasing a shit promo (good job
