WOW! this topic really heated up !?

Thanks for all the advice tho.
It is not like i am going anytime soon but it is a thought
that has been growing in my mind alot lately.
And when i talk about the god laws and politics of canada i
just don't mean the gay and pot thing but also the fact that
for example womens sports by law get as much goverment
financial suport as male sports . And that really shows in
olympic times etc..
Canada is progressive socialy the way sweden where in the
60's ->80s and i find that interesting.
I am also interested in the development of spain now when
they have the new socialist goverment , what changes are
they gona make ?

Is religion big in Canada ?

I loooooooove Spain. Wouldn't mind living there some day. I
think the Spanish people understand the value of being
alive.

Canada isn't overtly religious like the US but in some small
towns you'd be regarded as abnormal if you were a
fire-breathing atheist and didn't go to church. But Canadian
church is far more of a social than a religious event - it's
what ties small communities together.

Anyhoo in Montreal I'm perfectly comfortable letting people
know I'm not religious. No one seems to give a shit except
for the crazies.

Oh man, that must have sucked.

I saw in the paper today a story on the front page about
anti-suicide laws (suicide assistance, anyway) and some
people rallying against them, an old man with terminal lung
cancer that said at a meeting that he wanted to (and DID
soon after) off himself. There's always some moral debate
going on up here, and usually freedom wins. We'll all start
killing ourselves soon, seems like we're making headway in
that department.

i like canada. ive been pretty much everywhere in canada
from west to east and i like the west a lot more. the east
has more flavor and culture but the west has the best
weather and landscape.
