Just heard all the tracks on analord 1 and 2. I really
like Steppingfilter 101. AFX is back!
Fenix Funk 5 is one of the best tracks i have heard (the
best one this year).

Analord2: Yay.
Analord1: None of the tracks are long enough to leave an
impression

"He's really capable of much more, though."

SO true. Compare the production on Analord 10 vs 1 & 2 -
quite a difference! The set up is a bit cynical, making a
series with the expensive binder + a great first 12" and
then releasing crap on the following 12inches (can´t wait
to hear 3 & 4!). AFX shouldn´t treat his audience like
this. Give us something actually worth buying - on a CD -
and maybe we´ll do it, ok?

Im guessing he likes it all. Maybe he wanted to do some
simple stuff. Windowlicker is mind blowing cause it mixes
beautiful sounds with incredible editing, but that shouldn't
steal away from Bwoon Dub's thunder. Even though I think it
does.. He's obviously still using a sampler. Anyway, I think
it boils down to the fact that he really doesn't release
much music. These tracks are so a simple. They probably
didn't take long to make. If he released more we wouldn't
be sweating over them so much and we'd have more variations.
He measures out what he releases obsessively. Charging an
arm and a leg doesn't help, either.

analord10 is more complex than analord01 and analord02 who
are acid tracks pretty easy imo.
i like acid music but analord10 is the best.

i find the untitled track4 from analord01 beautiful for the
melody, unfortunately it's too short.

avard, you guys, keep in mind.

analord 10 is released of APHEX TWIN,
and the last part in the series (for now)...which would
correspond to drukqs period, thus the complex drill.

analord 1 and 2 are the first in the series thus released
from AFX and dating from a long time ago (acid house ages)

afx wasn't doing complex stuff back then, why would he (when
reproducing that era) do any different?

analord 2 is better than 1 but I think they're both quite
poor. I find them quite boring and overly repetitive.

nobody was smacked by where's my girlfriend!!??
i heard it in the live set he did at the primaµvera
festival and didn't thought it was him for a second but
loved it since then!
i was very surprised and delighted to find it is an analord
track, and thebest of all 1 & 2 for me, instant classic for
me!!
and it is a stormer for the dance floor too... :)

yes, me. i like it better in the live set, tho...

yeah it's a perfect mix-song, and he mix it with such class
and good tracks! that mix is top stuff...

but i don't understand how there's so little appreciation
from all the oldschool aphex lovers for it and grumpy acid,
both of them are pure afx, as good as what he did early
on...

the vynils are quite heavy and thick too (they miss a proper
sleeve tho, i got mine in static-charged plastic sleeves
that sticks to te records as you pull it out... baaad! had
to put another one directly to avoid scratching it
everytime!)

even if it's not audiophile pressing it is still a very good
pressing, way better than my girl/boy ep which is ultra-thin
and came warped :D

I really don't know where I stand with this, it's pretty
average, nothing anyone has not heard before better. I agree
with 'those who don't know the past are doomed to repeat it'
(or something similar)
.

It's a hommage and derrivatave poo.

im pretty floored,

nothing "ground breaking" but did you really expect it to
be?

it's a good homage to the old style (in which i wasn't even
listening to at the time, so my opinino is irrelevant).

oh man, it doesn't matter.

a melody is a melody ... bwoon dub, nuff said.

today i received the vinyls for analord 1 and 2

I cant play them cos I dont have a record player

the surface of the vinyl of analord 2

oh, this two are really starting to grow on me..i was a bit
disappointed in both at first, mostly because analord 10 was
so brilliant and i liked that one instantly..but anal 1&2
are just getting better with every listen and i already find
them very awesome!

okay... i heard Analord 2 for the first time today in my
friend's record store... when he got them in, i threw it on
at 45... it was pretty lovely... so now i come home and dl
them and find out that it should have been 33... and it
doesn't sound quite as nice... who wants to do rips of the
vinyl on 45?

lemme know!

haven+t got the record yet so i can't say for sure :)

Phonatacid is pristine! The use of the 303 is multi-layered,
creating a sensation akin to the spreader power-up from
Contra(tm).

the ten minutes of this song are so lush and flow so well i
always think it's shorter!

+8% pitch sounds better for #2 than 45rpm IMO
(#1 at 45 is well sick...)

favorite for now: pissed up in se1 (wonderful melody!)

:D

what's the bottom line then?

a) you like them
b) you don't like them
c) they are derivative poo
d) they are the proof of the existance of god

Nay.

Analord 10 is godlike! but these are just ...meh.

Mabe when i spin them again years from now i will go "Hey !!
i was wrong , this is really good!!" but it is very
unlikely.
They are not totaly crap tho , but just a little ...meh.

1+2 and 10 are very different. i quite like each for their
own unique qualities.

every release so far i've heard has sounded pretty much like
i expected, which is pretty odd considering i'm normally
bloody awful at predicting things.
