Oh yeah... two lone swordsmen; music from the double gone
chapel. Prolly one of the finest albums warp has released in
recent years... I would put that one about most afx, any
squarepusher and mu-ziq, and all of prefuses work.

Damn, how did I forget to mention that one?! Yes, an
excellent and often-overlooked album. Their cover of sex
beat is fantastic.

i'd say it was alright. some favorites:

dillinger escape plan - miss machine
fennesz - venice
tim hecker - mirages + mort aux vaches
hecker - pv trecks
mira calix - 3 commisions
squarepusher - venus no 17
squarepusher - ultravisitor
team doyobi - choose your own adventure
team doyobi - push chairs for grownups remix

some dissapointments:

arovane - lilies
mr 76ix - hits of 76ix (although no real basis to get
excited for i guess)

possible favorites that i haven't heard yet:

bola - gynase
pita - get off
team doyobi - antiquity
hecker/tone - palimpset

new boc, afx, and phoenecia may not come out this year as
previously said but i'm sure it won't be too long into the
new year once they come out.

In terms of IDM, I didn't find 2004 that outstanding. But,
with music in general, it's been my favourite year since
'94. 38 new releases for me, and not a bad one among 'em.

Yeah, a lot of people hated The Blue Album. It's currently
my third favourite Orbital record, though.

I think 2004 has been an exceptional year for music. I got
most of those albums on Purlieu's list. It's the first year
I've bought more than 10 or so albums released in the same
year. I'm usually trying to catch up on the past glories.

Prodigy's album? Really? Come on, own up. You thought it was
as shit as everyone else did.
