the scouring of the shire was never filmed, the whole saruman/wormtongue was moved forward and now plays as a new scene in Isengard, on top of the tower. |

i will probably like the ext dvd of rotk anyway, i loved the other ones, i cant even watch the edited versions anymore, they are terrible in comparision, things move too quickly, but i see why they had to do it. |

I can see why the Saruman-bit was edited out - it's pretty slow, especially at the beginning of a film, but the film works better as a whole with it in, so.. |

Dilemma; I got the boxed set EE last wednesday and was planning to watch the whole LOTR:EE experience with a friend, however upon opening the ROTK:EE I noticed some (minor) scratches on both the movie discs. Should I wait and watch it like I planned in the first place or check if it plays correctly and spoil all the new scenes I haven't seen/all that I've forgotten about ROTK? It would seriously suck if you been watching for like 11 hours on end only to discover that the ROTK discs are faulty at about halfway through :| |
