excuse me?

a film that evokes large discussions on the internet?

TONS of movies have and will elicit those reactions. it is
inherent to the medium (internet, I mean).

because it is sold partly on being an action flick and
partly on the DEEEEEP philosophical meaning.

they are attempting to cover action in a slick philosophical
sauce and quite badly, I might add - ofcourse I will react
to that.

leave it out, if I'm not supposed to react to it.

i liked it. and yes heh, i agree completely with the
philosophy of the movie. it REALLY is alot deeper than
everyone thinks.
now, as movie(storywise, and just fun-wise) it's not that
good of a movie, they could have written it better.
but the conclusion is just too damn exciting so i forgive
them(the wachowskis).

neither of these movies is "deep". not to sound like i'm on
a higher plane of thought than everyone who likes these
movies....well, thats what i'm going to sound like but oh
well.
the matrix is essentially a stew of basic philosophical
thought and science fiction cliche that has existed for
decades. its what computer science majors come up with while
stoned after going to philosophy 100. "whoa" indeed.

I loved Matrix 2. It was better then Xmen 2 for sure in my
books.

X-men's poooor. Xmen 1 sucked, xmen 2 was kinda cool.
Nightcrawler and colusssus were dope. Wolverine isn't badass
enough, the movie is too kiddie-ish etc etc. I hope they
make gambit amazing in the 3rd or I'm gonna piss on the
movie screen.

Matrix trillogy bends over xmen trillogy and rips it a new
one.

I love the scene where Laurence Fishburne is making his big
speach underground saying "we must fight". And then they all
start having a massive rave like hippies - no chance. Total
fucking rubbish. At that point I really was thinking this is
just so shit! Lol.

matrix reloaded was a stupid movie imo

it was difficult to make a bad movie with all the things
they had on their hands after the first matrix... but still
they managed to make a crappy film... idiots

i thought it was good.

and, i think this new trailler for revolutions makes it look
even better.

although, i'm pretty sure i'm the only person on this board
who liked the second film.

So anyway, all you haters should have nothing bad to say
when the 3rd one comes out because at that point, if you
still go to see it and feel cheated, you should have
known better.

yeah, as i've said b4, i think reloaded introduced vital
characters and filled in quite a few very important plot
features. but, it didn't really raise any cliffhanger
questions (aside from how smith got out, and how neo stopped
the sentinals in the 'real world'), or provide answers to
the things they left open with the first film, this caused
it to not really be the most captivating of stand-alone
films. which is prolly why the w. bros wanted to release
both reloaded and revolutions at the same time.

i think revolutions will answer the questions, and make
sense of all the characters that were introduced in
reloaded. and after revolutions, when we look back on
reloaded most of the parts that seemed vague and out of
place will make sense.

at least, that's my optimistic outlook on it.

well, just don't come on here complaining about Keanu's
acting or lack of a "deep" enough plot then :P

neo is a pawn.

keanu's bad acting fits the character perfectly.

much as mark hamill's bad acting fit luke skywalker so well
in the 1st two star wars'

preaching to the choir, man.

the funny thing is people complaining about his acting in
reloaded, as if his acting was any different in the first
episode, or any movie he's ever done for that matter.
that's like complaining that Patrik Stewart is too bald.

great ideas: horrible execution.

the first half an hour is the most boring gonna puke peice
of garbage ever comitted to film since "jingle all the way"

then it picks up pretty good, but they still ruined it,
ruined the whole damn thing.... you can force yourself to
half enjoy it...but you shouldn't have to force yourself to
like a movie

and about philosophy, any good film should try to
incorprate some...

teminator 2 is full of philosophy but's it's much much more
subtle. the matrix takes shit right of the pages of hume
and descarte

just because you didn't like it, doesn't mean other people
had to force themselves to like it.

Terminator 2 vs Matrix 2. Terminator 2 no contest. Sorry T2
will always be a classic and Matrix 2 will just be one of
those movies that time forgot. Come to think of it I was
never particularly blown away by Matrix 1.

I loved it, even though it was pretty poor from a critical
perspective.

i think the reason i hated matrix 2 was because it had no
atmosphere. the first one had a sorta glassy/metalic/plastic
atmosphere (if that makes any sense). and dispite what
others say, i dont think that the style in which the movie
was made has been duplicated; matrix 1 remains unique.

T2 bends M2 over and rips it a new one. I just got finished
watching T2, funny you should bring it up. It was on TV

to top that one.

that's because alot of the movie takes place in the gritty
dark real world. that was kind of the idea.

yeah, the "real world"

i heard that in the 3rd movie, neo has to live with 6
strangers in a house where they all fuck each other and cry
a lot.

that would be a damn sweet ending. i'd sit there and be
content if they ended it that way.
