"my cat is bad" with quotes i think should be allowed but
isn't currently.

anyway, until that's fixed, just try to remember a word in
the thread, and sort by date. so if you made "Cat" this
winter and remember writing "my cat is orange" then you look
up "orange" (or even easier, if you said your cat's name,
try that) and scroll to December, January, and February till
you see Cat.

OR

on the front page, where it lists the topics, click on
"TOPIC". that'll sort topics alphabetically. happy
scrolling!

I want to see a non-optional posting filter to screen out
words like "ghey", "teh" and "shrooms", and of course any
word spelled with numbers (eg, l33t, pen0r - which isnt even
a word without the numbers, n00b etc)

In fact, and instant perm ban for anyone caught using them.
And a hanging. Including their family. And pets.

Actually more search arguments don't increase the bandwidth,
even if you use such words as "the" and "a".

a nice feature would of in the a topic link on the index
page were links to the 2nd/3rd/etc. page of that topic.
Example:

[Topic name] 2 3 4

By clicking on, for example, 3 you would be directed to the
3rd page of that topic.

Totally agreed.

And to the Search discussion: boolean OR is a useless piece
of crap. :)

2 and 3 letter word searches would increase bandwidth for 2
reasons:
1) ppl would be looking for stupider stuff (the, ass, hi)
2) ppl looking for something serious would still get more
than the usual amount of results (eg: all cat threads
instead of pokey the cat threads)

Do you think there would be such an amount of idiots looking
for "the" and "hi" that'll eat up Phobia's bandwidth?..

And there is a demand for 3> letter searches. For example, I
know that one post in my thread contained the words poop,
is, bob and tao. I doubt that the results of such a search
would be that numerous. Especially if we can have the
ability to limit the matches to one POST, and not a THREAD.

Aww, poop is 4 letters. Replace with pop. Noone will spot
the difference...

i think it would be funny. i saw a board once where they
gave each other "karma"....so they could be at +84 -99 or
something. it's not like it would hurt feelings or
anything..

i think private messenging is a good idea. i realize that
software that is easily attained is readily available for
people to use...but they don't use it...they just go back
and forth on the board and it's obnoxious. maybe PMs would
help.

i'm glad there's no edit/delete function for
members...hopefully it makes people think twice about what
they post!

another thing that might be nice is if the board would bold
the topics that are new or have been posted to since the
last time you read them.

I can't think of anything it needs. Itth like, the board of
my DREAMTH, man.

And Gamefaqs has that Karma thing, it's pretty funny... if
your Karma is too low, they'll only let you post a certain
amount of times per day, post a certain amount of topics per
week, etc. And the little geekoids over there have hissy
fits if you diss the system/game of their choice and start
losing Karma all over the place.

And, it... actually works! It makes them stop fighting... or
risk being banished from their one source of social
interaction.

But surely clicking on Topics to sort it alphabetically is
just as bad on the bandwidth as searching for 3 letter
words. In fact probably worse as you don't know where each
letter starts so you'll be going to page after page.
I see no problem with 3 letter searches. Why would anyone be
searching for the word ass? You have a very low opinion of
people on this board if you expect that they'll search for
dumb words like that. Be reasonable. I agree with you on the
statement about "the" but then again a little common sense
would make people realise that you can't search for that.
Searching for a thread is quiet difficult at the moment.
Maybe it's easier if you've posted in the thread before but
other than that it's hard. You can't know a particular word
in that thread.
Searching for track RAE. Well anything could've been said in
that thread. What do you search for?

i thought of something else that would improve the board in
my opinion: when you click a link in a post, it should open
in a new window. unless that's impossible or
something...i'm not really so sure.

Please don't do this. I hate it when all links open in new
windows by default. I want to decide myself, I'm big enough
for that... i guess

people add a parameter to open new windows while clicking
links:
<,a href="http://www.xltronic.com"
target="_blank">board of my dreamth</a>

right-clicking and "open in a new window" also helps! ;)

but we'll discuss these issues internally!

All existing browsers have a feature to open links in new
windows with a simple shift-click or some other was that's
really simple. No need to enforce comfort. Please. :)

what's with all this talk about "kopfheads".... Kopf isn't
the german for 'shit', shatterproof, it's the german for

Only improvement I could think of is a "last replied to by:"

And perhaps the removal of spas who are too obsessed with

this board's philosophy of sweet-and-simple features.
