it's weird you should say that. i think it's the first album since TR that they haven't expanded and advanced their sound. it could easily be a load of outakes from Confield. it's still a good album tho, but not great.

It's more rhythm and sound based than confield, there's loads more texture on draft though.
I think it's a sweet album, I'm still absorbing it at the mo.
6ie.cr is very cool!!

Nothing they've done since then beats Garbage IMO- Vltrmx and Brochussevenmx are my two favourite tracks by them. Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of their recent stuff, but Garbage is absolutely outstanding.

I loved it. Particularly after confield which was nice but maybe a bit dry. The songs on Draft all have different personalities and color.

Talking about absorbing an album, loads of people are always talking about 'letting the album grow to you', 'take your time to get it' and so on.
I was wondering if people would take the time to let an album grow if it wasn't by Ae (or some other artist they already knew). I mean, I'm definately not going to listen to each artist at least 10 times to decide wether or not I like it, but with Ae some songs need that time with me. I listen to it some more times if I don't like it the first time, becaus it's Ae and chances are high I will like it after all. I do'n't do this that much with others.

I know what you mean, but I found the stuff on garbage instantly accessible (once I had accquired a taste for "this sort of music"). Perhaps their newer, more complex sounding stuff just takes more time to get into...

Definately, their older music was more accessible, less complex. It's different, not better or less good than what they're up to now.
I'm listening to all Ae in chronological order right now, and that is an interesting journey...

i agree with nacmat on the fact that i appreciate confield even more now. there are so many dimensions to that album as opposed to draft probably, which doesn"t mean that draft is daft, just more accesible stuff. heck, a tom waits fan in my flat loved 6iecr instantly. listening to ep7, you can hear that the style hasn't changed but the rate of perfection all the more. it's time for a new direction, though.

I still like Confield a little more. It's more extreme and I actually like the melodies more.
It's all good though. Sean and Rob totally rock my boat like nobody else can at the moment.

very true, i like confield a lot, very dark
i have an aritlce from xlr9r magazine may 2003, that says they used hundred of progams d/l from the net to make confield
whrere as draft 7.30 they focused on one program and looked deeply into it
NOTE TO SELF: must watch the gantz_graf dvd this weekend.

I see what you're saying... with me though, if I dish out the money for a cd, I'm gonna put some work into it if necessary, so to speak... most albums I'll give a nice few listens before scrapping it... and most times there is something on a cd that I like upon first listen... so that keeps me coming back...
