Some of the trips remind me of massive amount of cough-medicine I used to take. It contains a heroin-base of some sort, so it isnt far from it
you've just been awarded the royal jeroen stamp of cockcheese

i thought that this part of what he said was much worse... The worst thing about this movie is that there is no "upper". There is not that "save the day"-feeling you normally experience in mainstream movies. It just keeps going down, and down, and down...
i thought that was perhaps one of the films better sides.

Oh, I liked it a lot the first time I saw it. I was maybe 16 and since then I've learned to stop considering directorial gimmicks as radicality.
If you want real terrible bleakness, may I suggest Michael Haneke's Der Siebente Kontinent. It doesn't flash limbs and cocks at you but it's the most unbearably hopeless thing I've ever seen. See it and get very depressed.

Never seen the movie but the book was good.
Saw Trainspotting for the first time recently. It was ok. :-|
I want to try heroin sometime, seems like an edgy, artistic thing to do.

i still like this movie in my head but i havent seen it since it came out, its a decent film of an excellent book which is a rare enough feat in itself. add on all the directorial flash and it works really well in my eyes.
not a patch on pi though. thats an excellent film.

IX, I'm sorry that you like the movie, it doesn't make me immature to shrink from my 15-year-old self, I think most of us (maybe not you since you are pretty much 15 right?) would find things about ourselves back then to be pretty silly. It's an awkward age.

no, the impression you're giving is that you're better than anyone who likes this film. the subject matter is irrelevant, you're presumptuous attitude just comes across as immature.

first time i saw it i was really impressed and shocked.
second time i saw it the music annoyed me and i realized it is not really that great, more effectist and empty than i first thought.
id rated is as 'ok', not a bad film, but definetly not an excelent film.
i think it is that kind of generational films, like trainspotting, that are more famous and mitical for what they meant to a group of people at a certain moment, than for its real qualities (which they have)
