it is odd to me that non-christians are always the first to bust out the Bible on christians and try to somehow shame us, never realising that man doesn't weild the law. bizzarre how many people have beef with a God who acknowledges and forgives mankinds flaws.

WHO is it that sits on a high horse? i have made no claim of violence against you. you haven't ruffled my feathers at all, actually. i am merely stating my opinion which, if i recall... i am perfectly within my limitations of doing. i'm sorry that my opinions are not what you would like to hear, but often times in life, we find the truth is not something that is always nice to the ears.

Fresher in her mammory she says! I love it! Re: Latin -- It sure sounds like it. According to Balance the speaking in tongues at the end of Batwings is actually "insect jibber jabber". So your guess is as good as mine.
Which ones are you waiting for? Or did you get the compilation? Autumn Equinox and Winter Solstice are my favorites. The live version of Amethyst Deceivers on the 'Moon's Milk in Four Phazes' disc is also fantastic.

Yeah, that's the only drawback with Strange Fortune and it's only occasionally that it happens. He's usually very good with my orders and they normally arrive within a week or so which is amazing considering I'm all the way on the opposite coast.

If it's Jhon Balance at ATP you're talking about, that's a bit unfair. As I said, the drug-speak he came out with was a joke with the audience, and nothing more. I'm not saying he hasn't done every drug under the sun, but he was certainly not bragging about it.

i saw Coil at ATP and don´t know their stuff. i enjoyed the first 5 tracks and got quite lost in them actually but eventually needed less vocals and more beats so i sought the Skam dj´s on the other stage. good stuff and my mates there were huge fans but i wasn´t mindblown.

The core of Coil is Peter "Sleazy" Chrisopherson and Geoff Rushton aka Jhon Balance. Balance and Sleazy were a couple for almost twenty years, but parted ways a few months ago.
The other practically full time member of Coil is Thighpaulsandra, who also plays for Spiritualised and Julian Cope.
Other parttime members incloude Bill Breeze, Drew McDowall, Rose McDowall and Robert Lee and a few others who escape me at the moment.
Sleazy was one of the forefathers of industrial music as a member of Coum Transmissions and Throbbing Gristle, along with Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti (now Cris'n'Cosey) and Genesis P. Orridge (founder of Psychic TV and the Temple Ov Psychic Youth, and lately sporting a new pair of breasts!!).
Jhon Balance was also a member of Psychic TV, as was Sleazy for a short period of time. Coil began around 1982/83 with a cassette release with Zos Kia called Transparent (recently reissued). Several albums followed in the mid to late 80's, with a lengthy gap in the early to mid 90's. Coil almost never played live until a couple of years ago, and even now their live appearances are few and far between. Release-wise they have been relatively prolific over the last 4 or 5 years.
Coil are also infamous for the rarity of their releases, and the prices that their special editions fetch between collectors. We're talking up to £1000 here for some records.
They stole the show for many people at ATP, and in my opinion are one of the most original and exciting live electronic acts out there.

I understand why lyrics like "I killed an ambulance, I killed an ambulance" repeated endlessly by some bedwetter can be a turn off, but having just seen em at ATP I must say BO COIL. Slow paced, sensitive and dynamic post industrial ambience can't be done more effectively. Prefer Labradford etc though for being less poncy, just as effective.

Loogie > you haven't heard anything yet! : )
The Snow (Answers Comes In Dreams) is a good track, but it's just a remix of a track already not representative of Coil... the result doesn't give you a picture of what Coil is really about. : )
try to find some of these tracks if you want to get into...
· Heartworms · The Anal Staircase · Are You Shivering? · Backwards! · Amethyst Deceivers · Things Happen
if you like (dark) ambient: · The Mothership And The Fatherland · Refusal Of Leave To Land · How To Destroy Angels
there can do really different music too, these are quite representative but they haven't stopped amazing me even though i have like 11 of their releases... there are still tracks i found which didn't sound like any of their other stuff i know... "special" tracks, like Love's Secret Domain, A Warning From The Sun, Rosa Decidua, Omlagus Garfungiloops, the Remote Viewing series...
...and don't get be afraid, they're not dangerous perverts nor anything ^^
no scatophilia nor zoophilia to my knowledge!

Mine is Musick to Play in the Dark Volume II. I've never heard anything like that... ever. There's something about it that can't be put into words.
"Dark they were with golden eyes Brought golden books from darkened skies Every word from every world Within was written down They read it all out loud to us with silver tongues of fire
That licked the sun and stars and moon All space became a choir shining, shining, shining then they left without a sound then they left without a sound then they left without a sound."
