IZ-US

part A(the aphex part) or "the beauty of being numb" on
further dont hte spiral is awesome. its an odd experience,
you could say its depressing, but in a wierd way. it has
spots of great, i guess "pride" or something... i dunno.
listen to it.

I find Acrid Avid Jam Shred very mellancolic. It always
makes me feel quite nostalgic.

Nannou, and a list of others.

since depressing, from the sound of these posts, also means
disturbed haunting melancholic nostalgic...i would say:

mookid, tha, i, and cliffs.

and nearly anything by boards of canada.

go substance abuse!

i think track 7 (the one with no name) off polygon window is
depressing.... the way that synthetic horn in the
background moves... and it always moves upward but it never
makes up just one octave. *sigh*

ltns all, ... can't wait for drukQs

wayout from maine on 2001-07-23 19:48 [#00017403]

hmm ...aphex songs that are depressing to me are..IZ-US, i ,
ageisopolis, mookid, pancake lizard, next heap with, match
sticks (trk.12 disc2), tree, on(28 mix), schottkey 7th
path...then of course there are all those songs that are so
happy they end up making me feel more depressed...
but lately ive been thinking..there really arent many
consistently melencholy electronic/idm albums... most seem
to have a few depressing songs that are balanced out by a
bunch of happy ones..
a few exceptions i have found so far are:
squarepusher's MIRON, ae's amber, garbage and confield,
orbital's in sides,
underworld's STITI, and jega's geometry...anyone have any
other examples??

don't ever do any of that medicine tripping shit. cold
pills are extremely dangerous, and cough syrup will increase
your heart rate and make you black out. you will need your
stomach pumped if you do any of that shit, its bad!

remember waking up on the floor of my bedroom covered in my
own vomit. gotta hate that.

I've seen people say Rhubarb is happy and uplifting, but
I've always found it to be UBER-depressing. You people are
crazee.

yeah i was totally blown away by it when i first heard it
:-) That ep is so extreme... by the time i got to track #7 i
thought i had heard just about everything aphex twin was
capable of... and then all of a sudden comes this little
masterpiece. To this day it still brings a tear to my eye
whenever i listen to it.
