explicite - that shooting seemed pretty real...

i think its a really good film...
maybe the story is simple, but all the meaning hidden behind
it is really powerfull and strikes at your face...
is also incredible the narrative progression, and how it
suits with the deep meaning of the film...

i liked it a lot despite the rather simple storyline,
good acting, good soundtrack
i loved the beethoven music at the end (part of the 7th
symph.) it's one of my favourite classical pieces,
and belluci is hot indeed :)

theyre showing this again near my home...i missed it the
first time and now i WILL see it for sure.

also of note: anyone who describes anything as pretentious
and pompous is indeed describing their inability to find
value in something. you yourself are acting "pretenious" by
claiming you know what is and isnt good. this is not a
direct attack but a general outcry. i always hear people
use both those words and they piss me off like no other.

..a ten minute rape scene sounds like violence to me.

its not even the most violent scene, the way the guy dies is
quite horrendous. one of the most graphicly violent scene
ive seen. but all pretty pointless.

why is it pointless? fucked up things like that really do
happen in the world, this is an in-your-face (no pun
intended) reminder of that, it shows what aweful things
people can do to one another and therefore is intended to be
difficult to watch. it is supposed to be shocking, 'cause
that's the way it is in the real world too,
it's silly to close your eyes for that

i for one prefer films like this anytime over 'happy ending'
or love flicks which you watch and have forgotten about the
day after,

this stuff actually makes you think about the way things are

irreversible - you can change history
in this particular scene meaning, those two guys comited
murder and nothing could change that...but if you read that
discussion key-secret and i had in that other thread you
might get some ideas what was it all about - we also found
some nice comments by other peple, actors and even
director...

someone posted this at imdb.com:

Hi. I just rented the movie and started to watch it. It
is not in english and that is the only language I
understand. But for now I stopped it, because all I see is a
bunch of crazy camera angles and red lighting. I have a few
questions for the "veterans":

Am I supposed to watch this movie backwards? In otherwords,
go to the end and play it in rewind? I don't get it?

Will I follow the movie without understanding the dialog?
...
I will stop for it for now, I have rented it for a week.
...
Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

lol, is this guy for real? :

"Am I supposed to watch this movie backwards? In otherwords,
go to the end and play it in rewind?"

:)

saw 'seul contre tous' last week btw, pretty good film too
imo,
isn't the old guy in the first scene of irreversible the
butcher from seul contre tous? does anyone know?

perhaps it was a followup to 'seul contre tous' ...i don't
remember the ending - did he kill himself as well or he only
killed his daughter? coz if he didn't kill himself, perhaps
he was sent to jail and that is how irreversible starts.
