Jinkies Zeus it was just a silly troll. Sorry if I ruffled
anyone's feathers.

Ah yes, Pascal's Wager. But how do you know you're choosing
the right God? You could end up in some other religion's
hell.

I specified a God? I said "Jesus" just for an association to
make so people would get what I meant.

I'm basically playing it safe. I believe there is
"something", rather than just being a retard headed for
hell. Seems safer to me to have faith and be wrong than it
would to not have faith and be wrong

I don't see why someone feels the need to post a sarcastic
thread basically making fun of a particular religion...
fucking grow up...

"I don't know how to love him"

Show Jesus you love him by giving Benny Hinn your credit
card.

why do you care so much?

you're an atheist (apparently), it shouldn't matter to you
what someone else has chosen to believe.

you'd have to believe in a god in the first place in order
to denounce the idea or contradict the belief. the reason
can't exist without the idea. it's circular logic basically.
if you say "there is no god", then obviously at the very
least the word exists in your mind, which technically means
you believe the term 'god' exists just enough to say you
don't believe in god... confusing huh?

that's why it sucks to be an atheist and/or moron...

also, you have no one to scream out to during sex

I actually read that as Benny Hill for a minute.... can you
picture Benny running around healing people in sped-up
motion with that theme music playing?

I scream "BILE!" during sex.

So what you're saying is, because I have the concept of
Santa Claus, therefore he exists?

I better get some fine gifts this Christmas.

but if you want to go at a psychological aspect, then yes:
if a person sincerely believes Santa exists, then to them he
does. it might not be the same for anyone else, but in their
mind it's true, therefor technically, it is.

I have the mental image of Santa travelling on a sex tour of

God, I hope it's true.

well, in some ways I'm against religion... I believe if you
want to be a christian, read the bible and that's that...
all these rules for each religion is just bullshit... but I
do think that each religion has sacred ideas and beliefs
within them that are sacred to some people, and it's not my
place to judge, or poke fun of someone for believing them,
if I don't...

I went to a Catholic highschool. They never did anything
particularly evil or even interesting. I just thought they
were playing a weird game of pretending to believe in
something ludicrous for reasons I could never fathom.

Later when I became more politically aware I realized why
they were doing it, and how the promise of eternal damnation
or paradise is like a brain-handle that lets you pick a man
up and put him wherever you want.

So basically I hate religion because it is an exploitative
tool used by the cynical against the ignorant.

To me religious people are like those sad lifeless trekkies
who learn to speak Klingon and spend all their time devising
newer and better latex forehead bumps to wear at
conventions. And the tenets of most religions are no less
absurd.

why is someone absurd if they choose to believe that there
is a God out there? How does anyone know that there isn't

I can't prove that there is no God. So I suppose that means
there might be one.

And I can't prove that there isn't an intelligent race of
microscopic teakettles in your spleen, so I guess that's
also a possibility.

but how can you be so absolute and come out and say that
people are absurd for believing in a religion then? Let
people believe what they want... and quit judging and making
fun of them for it...

that is the whole point... but the thing I'm saying is don't
judge other people and call them stupid for their beliefs
because no one knows the final outcome of everything... so
know one is in a position to rightfully say "You're absurd"
to someone else...

religion is a set of rules that you get told

your own spirituality is something you come to understand
yourself

not really... because if a religion is true I don't believe

"squash" the arguements...

Listen, if you want to sit at home and let your spleen
buddies brew you a nice cuppa, that's fine.

But (al)most (all) people who believe in one God or another
want to enforce their beliefs on everyone else.

And to me those beliefs have are or are based upon prima
facie absurdities. And I don't want my world run by people
who seek to base civilization, morals and politics on
blatant fairy tales.

You wanna go live in a theocracy, move to one. They'll be
happy to repress your women, cut the clits off your daughter
just for being born female, and stone you to death or burn
you at the stake for posting ideas like mine.

If you're defending religion out of a misguided sense of
niceness or political correctness then you just haven't
thought this thing through. Think about it.
