I had a great upbringing. We didn't have much money but we had love!. Both parents where active communist party members and they used to sing on political gatherings , town squares and stuff , wich was pretty embarasing , everybody knew who my parents where =( Late nights with disscusions music and red vine , you know the usual hippie commy stuff! That was my childhood. They are not active like that any more , my dad is a ....don't know the correct english word here...he lays wooden floors and my mom is a social worker , she is actualy a boss nowdays cause she has started a project that helps imigrants to find jobs. My mom is my biggest role model , a very intelligent woman , i can't remember a single time i have won an argument with her (wich can be annoying). |

well, paul (can i say that?). my family was mid-class. my mother is a teacher but she has a major degree in economy and several languages. my father was a business-school drop-out who became a managing director, a little success story. he died 2 years ago. i'm the only child of old parents - spoiled. myu parents were tolkien and star wars freaks and this is one of the major factors in my upbringing. we have always had 'academic freak'-values in our family (for example my mother doesn't mind me smoking pot) |

Yeah ive been lucky! You don't chose your parents. Sad to see so many fucked up family situations in this thread , including yours Paul =( Knowdays it is unusual to have two parents that are still together. I think you should meet your father Paul , you don't need to forgive him or anything but it's good to see where you are comming from. I don't know but my grandfather was a mean old drunk and crimminal who was in and out of prison , not the ideal father and my dad wanted nothing to do with him. But he visited him on his death bed (lungcancer) and it was really interesting for him too see stuff like that he had the same hands as him and I (sido) had the same nose as him etc. My grandfather apologised to my dad with a weak voice for being booring and dad said " i didn't excpect you to break out singing and stuff" He replyed "You didn't huh!!!" and started singing with his weak and dry dying mans voice ! Stuborn old man trying to prove something haha! Dad found a little ounce of respect for him! Go meet your dad Paul , you don't need to become son and father again or even friends but i think it would be a good experience. |
