Ignore the threads you don't like; it only takes a second to go to the 'back to index' option. I just stick to the threads that interest me and corrupt the ones that are really boring by working with Meho to lower the tone. |

The additional chatroom idea would solve the problem of too many messages not worth reading that you have to sort through to find the good ones... but there's that one at soulseek which everybody seems to have, so y not go there when you just want to chat more freely? The chats there don't save, they just get deleted when you log off, so it would be more useful to use this messageboard to discuss stuff with more thought. |

u should have the messageboard broken up into different messageboards e.g. general discussion, all things aphex, aphex sightings, check out my track. etc. interested to know what you guys think. |

I think Animenation did that. but then it segrigates (*sp) everyone into certain places so you don't always get to talk to each other. I do like it like this and I'm thinking now that more rules will prolly change things for the worse Phobe can sort things out if he wants to anyway. It's nice to talk about all this tho isn't it? |

here are a few of my opinions, make of them what you will: -a crap topic can turn to a useful one very quickly, and visey versey -newbies might be put off by al these topics about nudity -crap topics get the most replys, and give the poster more chances for points -you can only talk about music so much in one day, we need a break -this is an afx site, we should be mentioning afx most of all -stupid is as stupid does |

let's see: *is anyone in this for points? I think not. I spam sometimes, I'll admit that but not for points, it's more that I think I'm funny or I'm extremely bored and am trying to get some action going *"this is an AFX site and we should be mentioning and AFX most of all", so I'l start a topic about animal xes and namedrop AFX just to keep purists happy. I don't think that'll work. Saying what we SHOULD do is very tricky. Are you going to enforce this? And how? The point is, we are gathered here BECAUSE we love/ like/ appreciate AFX and NOT to worship him. The fact we dig AFX got us all here but it doesn't automatically mean we have to discuss afx at all. People discuss what they find interesting be it musicmaking software (something i'm not particularly interested in) or masturbation techniques (something I can lecture on). You don't like some of it, fine, go to another thread or start your own. If you can't find any people to chat with you on masturbation/ aphex twin/ politics/ whatever, it's you and not the other people who has problems. Saying that it is expected of us to discuss AFX is a little bit oppressive and I'm not particularly happy with it. The minute topics start being deleted for straying too far from whatever imaginary MB policy you can get (discounting the obvious spam/ troll/ flame/ fighting/ hate things), I'll be out of here. |
