to try and create some mystery around a release is ok, but
doing it more than once in a short span is a bit tiresome.

isn't there an 'unknown artist' ep or lp getting released
soon? change the marketing strategy, it's been done before,
and by the same label!

although it seems slightly harsh to associate rephlex with
fashion, reluctanly i have to agree. they seem to want to
direct people's music tastes from idm to old skool to ragga
and now to 2-step. but on the other hand they don't seem to
care much if anybody picks up on it. so i don't really
understand what they really are up to. no promotion, limited
albeit non-existant updates on their website and virtucally
no promotion whatsoever. it almost seems up to fans to
promote their products on forums such as this.

This is an old topic so anybody knew who was Astrobotnia.
Now I know and he's Aleksi Perala aka Ovuca. I saw him live
and I can confirm.

Rephlex men with black coats are really aggressives... I
remember when I put some Bochum Welt mp3 on my site without
their authorization... what a bad day.
I deleted all mp3 in few seconds and I saved my life.

;)

phobia: Was there a point in denying the association of
aleksi and astrobotnia? Why would they want you to do that?
Because i knew he was both Ovuca and Astro, i made the
decision that Aleksi is quite a talented artist and #2 on my
IDM list.

Number 1 being Richard.

cos they want the music to speak for itself and don't want
anyone to have any pre-associations when they're listening.

a rephlexlord told me I was naughty once when I had the MfM
mp3 tracks online... that's when I realized the artist
really was AFX and not Aphex.

oh and a few years back, richard told me he would sue me if
I sold AFX fan t-shirts on aphextwin.nu... he also said
"fuck off".

He would sue you?? Thats a bit harsh seeing that our money
supports his music/career.

That makes sense about them not wanting people to know. They
just want people to take the music for what it is, and not
pointlessly debate about various names. Which reminds me of
how sometimes people joke about Richard actually being the
one that makes all the music! :D

what about a new astrobotnia ? i heard him live during Rx
xmas tour & his laptop seemed 2 b full of new trx & astro
were recorded in 2001 according 2 the credits, so i hope a
new astro wouldn't be too long. i love his simple & fresh
trax, that may sounds bollox but when i listen 2 it, i can
feel fresh air, space, sun & nature...
