If it is good I listen then buy, if it's not then I
don't...don't matter who the junk is by just so long as the
quality is A.

the fact that the drukqs trailer is called "rubber johnny"
on cunningham's dvd really makes me think it's richard and
that maybe he'll release something else under that name in
the next year or two. just a wild and most likely totally
off guess.

the fact Jason Buckle is behind the jamrolypoly EP does not
make me believe that.

anyway as master dobbin said, it's a very good ep...

it owns, is similar to some afx or squarepusher or jason
buckle,
maybe it's a big collaboration, anyway track 1&2 are pure
mental tracks...

you should all check it out...

The Rubber Johnny thing is more drum and bass
styled....there aren't melodic and shurely no AFX or Aphex
like....

BECAUSE IT'S MR J. P. BUCKLE

of course it doesn't sound like aphex but explain the
cunningham DVD thing to me? richard said long ago that he
releases loads of music under aliases that people never know
about and some of the stuff he's released that we have found
about doesn't have much in common with the bulk of his work.
playing devil's advocate here (in other words, i don't
believe it myself but it's an idea), maybe jason buckle has
agreed to be a front for some dnb tunes richard decided he
wanted to release.

it's jason buckle who also did the rephlex album flying lo
fi and was part of all seeing eye.
the question is - what does it matter if it's by aphex twin
anyway ?
surley what matters is whether you enjoy it or not?
all this fanboy stuff just clouds the issue of whether you
actually enjoy music or not

Or if AFX says he will produce under 'rubber johnny' then
it's gonna help his mate sell a few extra copies innit?

another good point

astrid: why can't anything be fun? i haven't heard this
release yet and it wouldn't make me go buy it if it was
aphex but i'm still curious. you can be INTERESTED in
something without being an obsessive. don't be such a
square.

i couldn't agree more. aphex seems to have become a 'label',
people will like or judge it before even hearing it.

This (as well as GAK - GAK) is now available on bleep.com.
Perhaps this will help people to once and for all comes to
terms with the fact that this is not Aphex!

You're all wrong

Rubber Johnny is actually J.R. Hartley (an underground
artist most non Brits or those not alive during the 1980's
won't have heard of)

I wouldn't know. It is the best example of literary work
produced in the 20th century.

This topic is about Rubber Johnny the Warp record release by
JR Hartley, not the Chris Cunningham promo. I thought you
were referring to the record.
