oh, ok :)

ddrummondd called him Jonathan, which he has been called
before because some people think that loveeee is global goon
aka squawk - but idk though, i always get the dupes mixed
up!

doesn't matter, I should've just stayed out of it!

Twin Peaks is a winner - plenty of intrigue there...

Yes! I'm looking forward to it, should be something visually
spectacular. 500m budget apparently. Hopefully it isn't a
script full of a main character looking longfully in to the
distance every other scene like The Pacific, which was poor
enough for me to hope the he just died to end his obvious
incurable depression.

I found a series from the 80's I haven't seen since it aired
when I was a kid. The prejudice and resulting squalor of
maybe a 5 second memory always stuck with me.

I was only 11 and watched mainly as Mike from The Young Ones
was in it. It's pretty shite in hindsight, but to think this
got cancelled due to PC complaints makes me laugh at it
more.

A small problem 1987

I cant really remember much about the pacific, where band of
brothers was very memorable, i think each episode was 15
mins shorter so they could stuff more adverts in, don't
think the actors were very good but id have to watch it
again to pin point the specific problems with it, talking
about it just makes me want to watch band of brothers in
stead, also yeah hope masters of the air is good,

I'm sorry folks, I should have been more specific as to what
I've already seen.

Jam is great, miseantroll, and as much as Chris Morris is a
hero of mine, I won't be showing her any of his stuff. Maybe
excluding Four Lions.

Of the biggies, Things we both haven't seen that I'm
thinking about are: True Detective, Mad men, Humans and that
one Descent mentions.

I'd love to watch Battlestar Galactica...

The first season of True Detective is brilliant, I haven't
seen the second but it's universally regarded as laughably
bad. First season is standalone though with a beginning
middle and end so you don't miss anything by stopping
there.

Strong recommend on Battlestar Galactica too.

Stephen Fry is outrageously smug

thinking o f Fawlty Towers i watched the film 'clockwise'
with John Cleese in it, hadn't seen it for year

Yeah, Grtting On is pretty good, though grim. They're making
an American version....

I used to adore QI, but for a while it just doesn't have the
same effect as it used to. Either it should be renamed LI,
or maybe it's that they're focusing more on 'comedy' and
chat and less focus is put on the actual interesting facts.

Love the Pythons. I've rarely met someone who doesn't.

Of the Star Treks I've only seen Voyager when it comes to
the series.

Looks like i might be going for Battlestar Galactica. Seems
just my thing, just not sure about the missus..

with QI Alan Davis gets like his rehearsed gags
that the producers put in just for him, oh yeah his funny
sound effect for the week, it makes me cringe, plus i hate
how he always hijacks others good gags, when their is the
occasional one, he has to be centre of attention

I found the earlier series were good. but it became to
appear that almost every QI question is a double entendre
regarding stephens sexuality and bottom. : /

What is worse is that a scientist may come on the show and
talk some really interesting facts whilst all the other
guests YAAAWWN and pretend to sleep on the desk and act
like like they have really low IQÅ›, as the audience then
laughs and the scientists just has to stop talking.

I´ve learnt some cool things from the show. But i wish they
allowed people to talk more and didnt feel they needed to
crack a gag to stop us from learning. It really seems that
way at times. : /

I suggest ¨fool us¨ instead, it´s a magic show where
magicians from all over the world try and perform a magic
trick to try and fool pen and teller.
some really great magicians have attended.

here are just a few i found on yt that are great. Best
viewed full screen.

Steven Brundage
Shawn Farquhar
Shin Lim

I watched a fair bit of QI myself and must say I agree with
most of what you guys said. Stephen Fry is always sniffing
his fingers and reciting some Greek poem about young nubile
boys.

I love Bill Bailey and Jo Brand (and others I can't think of
now). And Rob Brydon (he's also quite smugly but I love
him).

lots of cool recommendations in this thread, thanks

my local tv station aired Robin Of Sherwood all the summer,
both seasons. if you watched it as a kid and enjoyed it - I
guess you'd never fall for the hollywood costner robin hood
crap later on

True Detective S02 seemed so miserable that I just had to
rewatch S01 - though I was kind of disappointed with the
ending, as many before me. and wow, S01 still holds. or
maybe I've changed or watched it in different
setting/mindset - alone ? dunno. Second [binge] watching was
a lot more enjoyable, anyway. All those tiny details, ...
and a lot more chuckles. Classic shit, I'd say.

Not really saying S02 was that bad....but if you say S01 was
e.g. "3-dimensional" - S02 had only 1 dimension: another sex
drug crime story bla bla. I'm not much of a Farrell fan
either.

Humans - quite interesting, not mind-blowing, but an ok
watch if you're into AI, androids and stuff

not mentioning X-Files [until season 6-7 - before A.Gish
entered the stage] or Twin Peaks - I love them

and some more from my imdb bag:
Happy Valley [very cool Brit crime/police mini-series]
The Fear [mob boss amnesia...cool watch]
The Fall [if I could un-see S02 I'd do it - S01 was enough]

Dexter - yeah, great idea - though it's one of those shows
that went for far too long imo [same with The Killing, which
was mostly very cool only thanks to the protagonist female
detective]. lots of unncecessary episodes, a few quite
annoying characters that made me ff some episodes. I
wouldn't mind some Dexter come back though "I'll see you in
25 years" Lynch style.

well Breaking Bad or Six Feet Under would be great...but if
I find at least 1 annoying character or actor in pilot.....I
can't go on.

I thought battlestar galactica was fantastic. Of those i
mentioned Dexter was also my favourite and deadwood, awesome
manuscript.

I watched band of brothers just recently, i thought that i
had seen it back in the days but had probebly only seen one
or two episodes, it was great.

Mr robot started showing on swedish television so i am
whatching that im on episode 3, its good so far.

I finished whatching breaking bad it was great and had its
memorable moments . After that i started whatching better
call saul it was good.

Yesterday i saw the first episode of narcos so i will be
watching that, its well made.

Also i am whatching house of cards, its great, i am on s2
e13.

And new season of homeland have just started so ill be
whatching that.

In the future i am planning to whatch daredevil, sherlock
holmes, arrested development.

Series i maybe will whatch in the future, il keep them in
mind. Peaky blinders, luther, silicon valley, eastbound &
down. Thats it for now.

Also, yeah true detective season 2 wasent as good as the
first one. I found it hard to follow the plot but it had its
moments and the actors was pretty good so it wasent total
bad and it had some nerve in it. But you could skip that one
and only whatch season 1 because they have nothing to do
with each other. And s2 is not essential.
