i saw narcos (yes, i've got netflx). it's very good.
i saw Luther, the first two seasons were pretty great, 3rd
season was just a terrible shame

I've acquired Luther, it's waiting in the queue - trailer
looked promising.

Mr.Robot - awesome pilot, great 2-3 episodes and then all
went to shit. I couldn't believe it and went into denial
["ok, that's ok, ok"] - but after watching the finale
ep....I shall say no more, don't want to SPOILERS. Only
this: I was right to steer away from anything Ch.Slater is
in.

So I lost my faith in TV series for a second but then
tried....UTOPIA. And I'm happy again.

No offence to anyone, but IN GENERAL TV series made in UK
rule, as far as my series watching is concerned..I know it's
all based on economics and tv politics, yeah, blah blah,
e.g. in UK "Lost" would be 1-2 seasons at most - I think ??
lol. I'd make that show just fucking 6-episode mini series.
Plane crash, boom, press that fucking button, where is
Jacob, black smoke says "HUR HUR HUR", end titles - fuck
mystery solving ! Lynch style. At least many people would
save some respect for the godawful script writer.

ANYWAY Utopia season 1 is great. Probably season 2 is shit
in comparison - I'm gonna start it tonight, so dunno. I
don't mind.

Ah, I started The Leftovers...endured 5 minutes. ^^ same
thing as with Lost. No way I'm gonna invest my time to watch
a 6 season road-to-nowhere. No fucking way. Mystery my ass.

And a good day to you sirs.

you read like you've had a few cups of coffee today :)

anyway, I just logged in to say that season 2 of Utopia is
by no means shit in comparison to season 1

The only shit thing about it is that there is no season 3

Seen them all, showed episode one to the boss, we won't be
watching anymore. Shame. I love the series. It was just a
bit too dark for her I think.

Luther series 4: BBC1 15th of December!

I enjoyed season 3. So there.

Boss is right. Two episodes traumatized me. (The zombie one
and the xmas episode).

Btw: Boss, with Kelsey Gramar and the chick from 90210, is a
very good series.

Episode 1 is an odd one out, in that it's just all funny to
me: absurd.
It's very good though. I was just blown away by it :->

I don't often use the term, but I thought the first episode
was genius. The pig was just too much for the boss though.

I watched Top Boy on netflix recently, I wasn't expecting
much but I was actually quickly hooked and ploughed through
it.

It's as close to The Wire as you'll get from a British
production. Gutted Ch4 cancelled it, but I suppose it's
easier and cheaper for them to do stuff like make a shit TV
programme about plebs watching shit TV programmes.

This last season of The Affair was pretty darn good. That
show tackles some good issues regarding life, love,
relationships, desire, what have you etc etc... definitely
worth a watch.

We recently subscribed to a dns server so we can get netflix
and it's great. While there are a lot of TV shows and crappy
movies (shark movies anyone?) I don't really care for, there
is enough content on there to keep us occupied for some
time. Planet Earth for example, haven't watched that in
years.

@Portnoy haha yeah most likely that was my quick morning
coffee posting :)) 2 months passed like an F-16, phew

As for Utopia: I enjoyed both seasons. S2 didn't have the
speed of S1 - but it was way more serious and darker. Still,
soundtracks for both seasons are very fitting and the music
is great to listen to on its own. I started watching U.
again after a while and it was double enjoyable to watch the
characters develop. I had to pause the rewatch but I'll def.
come back to it. And I agree that there should be no S3. And
hopefully David Fincher will never remake it - I think it
would be worse than his US version of "Män som hatar
kvinnor"

I've seen 2 ep's of Vera: another sweet little UK crime
series. 4eps a season/year - that's quite economical lol.

(spoiler free reviews)
Hannibal was great. 3rd season was great too, but I got sick
of the characters

Homeland season 4 was pretty great, it just got good again
where season 3 turned lame.

Finally saw True Detective season 1. It's really great. Obv.
much credit to McConaughey and Harrelson.

Started watching Penny Dreadful. It's absolute lovely

Started watching Masters of Sex. It's pretty great, but
maybe too feel-good at times

Since I see I haven't mentioned it here: yea Fargo. It's
really up there with the bestest

i have a weak spot for miniseries. it's something about the
format i really appreciate. it's not as drawn out as (some)
tv series, and not as compressed as (some) movies.

anyway i really liked wolf hall when i watched it recently.
mark rylance is great in the lead part. didnt know much
about him beforehand.

@pandapirate yeah I know
@Portnoy I think The Killing is very good though too long -
maybe because of the family plot. I prefer miniseries just
like Advocate above.

I can't wait for new X-Files to finish [miniseries too, if
you don't know] so I can watch it all in one session.

Hopefully the response will be so great that it won't end up
as just a 6ep season. The chemistry between
Duchovny/Anderson is still there, one of the greatest tv
series [and film] couples deserve more air time imo.

And fingers crossed for David Lynch to live long [and
prosper] enough to give us new Twin Peaks. Next year/ASAP,
hopefully.

Watching The Leftovers. Not very far in but so far just like
the characters in the show I have no fucking idea what is
happening.

I've finished "Luther" and I think it's overall a great
series. <3 Alice

The 2ep s04 was unnecessary though. They could've just
waited for a moment when Ruth Wilson would be available for
Luther again. And make a proper 4-6eps season with her. To
maybe finish the whole story in good style.

I hope it comes back. Elba and the script writer want to
keep going with it so fingers crossed.

==============
I also started Hannibal but the "spooky" male detective made
me facepalm several times during the first ep so....not for
me. Too much cheese per frame.

And i started whatching mad men, its very good. Alot of
great stories and characterers, i am on s5.

Girls is very good also. I have been whatching it from the
beginning. I like the latest season.

Silicon valley is pretty funny and good. It was kinda sad
that he who played peter gregory died of cancer early on.
New season soon.

Honourable Woman

Some Utopia actors in this. I'm not a big fan of Maggie
Gyllenhaal (loved the Secretary though) - but this series is
v good and she plays really well too.

*thumbs up*
