Absurdly good rhythm, complex electroacoustics, huge balls
in the mix.

Multiple bands on side A is a nice touch. Look forward to
whatever is next

i miss some melodies in this...
nice crazy beats with no excuses,
it would be good for djing,
but im a bit disappointed.
first listening impression+my vinyl player is shit anyway

strange things noticed:

- are those sex samples on the background on the beggining
of track 4 (first track on 2 track side) ?!

- circular hole at the end of track 2, so that the needle
keeps on running without jumping to track 3 (happens to all
of you?)

i must also say that i turned up the bass and im enjoying a
little bit more side A on second listening.

that totally makes sense,
very similar style indeed, and similar not-totally-satisfied
feelings on me...

to me it's like one tune sounds macc & dgohn, one sounds
like jodey kendrick. dunno about the others. theres a
familiar feeling though and it's a good album.

yeah - actually after listening today again to it quite
thoroughly i revise my above statement to : it's a collab.
probably of some older unreleased stuff of rephlex folks.

the part from 1:40 in steinvord is so much aphex that it is
aphex.

and if "ontrack v2" isn't sp i can very well just delete his
whole discog.

yea, totally agree with ontrack sounding like the pusher. i
just wonder why the magnificent initial synth doesnt returns
later...

about 60% of this really takes me back to drukqs times so
end up missing some of the expected crying melodies that
really ought to be poured all over these kinds of patterns
and beats. it feels like idm hayday sound but its return
here is quite welcome just wish for moar lush melodiez maybe

finally listening to this on flac after having the myspace
rips for too long.... my god, it's amazing. like,
staring-into-the-abyss-while-my-face-melts-off amazing. i
don't care if it's not richard, this is still the best drill
n bass since drukqs.

buy it then, so he can ge by making music instead of the
alternative of a non-vocational job

prize!

The fact no one really knows who he is tells that Steinvord
is not really a new guy on the scene, must be some Rephlex
big shot.

I really hate all the breakdowns in Maeltrom, when the
breaks are finally going somewhere they stop. The track goes
absolutely nowhere, totally opposite of what Squarepusher
did in Go Plastic. Very unsatisfying listening, wished they
picked up better tracks for this EP.

agreed. i have not much use for a piece of shiny vinyl if i
can't listen to it.

i am not going to download this, right now... hoping more
material comes out, i think the ep is good, the drums are
perfect, but i would like more melodies

So far hearing the samples alone:

I'd call this more 'Ambient Braindance' because there's
nothing really happening apart from some atmosphere running
until the end (of the samples). It's just signature sounds,
and I'm really more of a melodic kind of person, but saying
that I think I might have to listen properly to the full
thing. Even though I'm not really that interested already.

Also quite like how the Phoscyon sounds in "Backyard".

for you people without ears. It is like a compilation,
featuring tracks of Aphex, Squarepusher & Wisp.

Got this and photodementia the other day.
Vinyl has a lock groove for some reason. Been a while since
I've had one of those, so a bit of a novelty. The way some
of the songs hark back to the "good old days" is also a
novelty.
I didn't listen to this and think, oh it's definitely x,y or
z artist, but it has bits which sound similar to a few.
It's a pretty tasty release anyway.
