Well I had to disable NoScript for it to work but it is neat. How does the javascript get onto the mb? I thought it was filtered server side. I will now try an experiment: |

Well as far as I see it there is a choice on the internet: * Run NoScript and have some inconvenience -or- * Let Javascript run amok within your browser. Blacklisting zilty does disable the reply-to thing and character counter but I can often live without them. Essentially a page is made up of named objects (look up DOM, document object model) which can be manipulated using javascript. The javascript can be triggered by events, in this case a mouse click (onmousedown) which is embedded within the link tag. If you look up "AJAX" this is the name for this sort of thing. It's how you can get snazzy websites that update things without reloading the whole page. Anyway, I'm just a novice and I used to dabble with websites in the past but you can see why using NoScript is a good idea these days. http://noscript.net/ |
