Thief 1 is probably the hardest computer game of any genre that i have played.. unless im forgetting about something..
its also EXTREMELY good, u should all give it a try if u haven't already!
its like a first person shooter, but u have to sneek around, stick to the shadows and stay quiet to avoid attention
the guards will get u if they so much as hear u running on a stone surface, see any blood form somone u killed (u have to hid the bodies too), or see YOU out of a shadow
it takes place in like the 1800s (but not really, its a mythical place) so u have swords and arrows and such.. its SUCH cool game, ive never played another game with such amazing atmosphere
oh..... and uh, its hard too:)

video games are getting easier because the focus has went completely to graphics these days... many of the companies go by the philosophy good graphics=good games

but in a way their getting harder.. in terms of first person shooters, the trend is realism these days
in the growing the terrorist/counter-terrorist genre is huge now.. in it:
its all about accuracy (and lack there of) of weapons u cant just pick up health in shit like that u die w/ like 2 shots
and many of hte newer games are immitating this style
these are a lot harder than quake and all those old school fps..

Yeah evolume, that goldeneye level... I've done it probably 6 times, the trick is to use your bombs to kill the guards not the tanks... that saves a lot of time, then you have to get lucky to find that scientist dude in the right place...

Shadowrun for Super Nintendo. I forget where, but I was stuck in the same place for so long. With the internet info nowadays I should bust it out and beat it.

I've never beaten the original Spy Hunter. But that's not the hardest game I've ever played. That would probably be Tron.

As fighting games go, the hardest was Mortal Kombat. Completing that on V Hard was a mission.
But the hardest game of all time was Jet Set Willy II, Head over Heals a close second (Only if you get all 5 crowns!) along with thunderforce 4.
On the topic of playing games with cheats.... I wouldnt use cheats as such but If I'm really stuck I'd use a few tips. The amount of people who said Metal Gear Solid was easy (beacuse they played it on easy) Is stupid though. Hard (without the radar) was def the best way to play it.

I'm with you on that, you only had a few lives and there was firing coming from EVERYWHERE. I only got up to the 'cave' level that was in '3d'...I still remember those crash and burn noises, its sounds like AFX sampled them in st Michels Mt!

yeah wMw, i have only done that golden eye a couple times. i did it once when i borrowed the game from a friend. then when i got my own copy, i did it a second time.
Aminal, I agree, thief is one of the hardest games i have ever played. its also kinda scary; like that part when you are going through the mine and those zombie things keep moaning and jumping out at you.

The only way to beat Thunder Force 4 is with cheats... there's one you can do in the option screen that gives you infinite lives. That's the only way I could get anywhere... with that cheat on, I'd die about 20 times a level. And you only get like 5 lives or something. :-/

Ok, who has played RC Pro-AM for NES? Can this game be beaten or do the levels increase forever? I was really into this game for a while and made it into the 40s on the tracks. But it just became impossible.
