Sitting at a piano and thinking about all the great works
ever done on there is equally hard. I think you would like
Ableton for the ease of use doing the laborious bits.

It can have s', correct? If it is plural
possessive.

For instance:

Me and FREE WILLY headed on out to The Jones' to
get us all some hamburgers and them french fried potaters
they was havin'. Them suckas is deeeee-licious.

However, should Jones be considered plural, referring
to the multiple members of the family, or should it be
considered singular, as there is one Jones family. There is
not multiple families, however there are multiple people who
are members of the family.

There ARE not multiple families. I am so, so sorry.

It's too late. You can't ever be a pedant again.

By the way using a controller is really easy in Live too.
You just hook it up, activate the midi key feature, select
the parameter in Live you want to control, turn the knob or
slide the fader and that's it. You can now remotely control
that parameter with your controller.

The plural of Jones is Joneses I believe... if a word ends
in s then the plural will most likely end ses,
and sh in shes.

s' is used as the possessive if a proper noun ends in
s. For example:

This is Jesus' hood, yo, back da fuck down

as opposed to

This is Jesus's hood, yo, back da fuck down

However, this is not followed rigorously these days.

For the majority of the time, it's easy to patch a
knob/slider/parameter to my MIDI kybrd in FL... you just
right-click the knob/etc in question, choose, "Link to a
controller" and twiddle the knob you want to use... so
that's good...

I hear that ableton beat-matches would be awesome for my new
hip hop album Yo! Thumb Brush the Glow or if I want
to do remixes of stuff... also I think it would be easier to
jam using Ableton, something I've not done since the heyday
of reBirth.

Cool. I used FL last when it first came out. Back then it
was just a little better than Hammerhead. It's
come a long way from that though.

I recommend Ableton. I don't know how good FruityLoops is
these days (I was using FL3 for yeeears- with NO midi- just
wav samples ;p) but Ableton has been a real breeze to learn,
and comes with some decent instruments a bunch of nice
effects right out of the box.

The automation alone amazingly simple and worth at least
trying the program for.
