im keen to argue that subjectivity is real and valid. certainly, reality would be without us; it is our privilege to experience it :)

Im just saying how I feel about it. And I will at times get bold and borderline offensive. Don't hate me for it and don't feel like you cant believe what you want its not about that. I just think that is a view that is very common in modern times and I feel compelled to challenge it. I think it stems from environmental factors in the world but not the core spirit of life.

Your attachments to life are what define it. We also have mutual, cooperative agendas that connect you and define you within the human environment. Whatever platform your 'existence' is on I feel you can comfortably rely on this as your reality. The physics and science of the platform is just endless speculation

What is real and how do I feel about the world around me are two different things. If your experience was a garden paradise where animals came up to greet you and you never had a worry in the world would you feel the same way about your reality?

I don't doubt that you feel strongly about it, as do I, and i would bet that you have a big heart, and you're a nice guy, but from what i understand, you believe that every modern scientist, physicist, or any other proffesion that deals with stuff along those lines is devoid of emotion/feeling/spirit, which is possibly the same reason why there's a conflict between "science" and "religion" Both ideas just letting people be interested in what they want but comparing themselves to one another, ego.

they're not two different things, something real in your brain just happens. if you manage to undestand and see a phenomenon it doesn't automatically mean that you know how could it happen.

i dont interpret glasse's comments as a rejection of science. the impression i get is that he is challenging the renunciation of subjective or spiritual reality in favour of the physical; which is perhaps the crux of the argument.

well, my understanding is of an interdependent nature of reality resulting from an infinite series of causes and effects. spirituality involves an understanding of the nature of being beyond the concepts of self and ego.
to argue who put what where is another example of subjective bias. i think the point which many of us are trying to argue is that we require a balance between objective and subjective interpretation to form a more accurate approximation of reality.

thats precisely what buddhist monks do (warning, buddhism); they renounce the ego as a means to directly experience reality. the idea is that through the attainment on 'non-self', one's perception is no longer beseiged by illusion or preconception, and suffering can be ceased.
buddhism is frequently misunderstood as being a rejection of or escapism from reality, when in fact, its goal is to appreciate and accept reality's true nature.
it may also be interpreted as an extreme rejection of subjective reality. once again, the process of rejection is misinterpreted. transcendence of illusion and suffering requires an understanding of subjectivity; indeed, knowing how the mind works.
