it was hyped up by a few people whose opinions i trust... i
really, really didn't like it, found it completely
contrived. maybe i'm just someone it didn't click with
though

One thing I learned from the show is that serial killers are
sophisticated people.

i'm half way through the first season boxset and i'm
hooked.

didn't really think too much of it at first but the story
has grown on me now.

a truly unique show.

Good show. Shame they didn't follow the books and have
Doakes survive but with no arms and legs but he has fucking
hooks and shit instead. Nuts.

Darkly Dreaming Dexter and Dearly Devoted Dexter by Jeff
Linsay.

There are more books but they are completely different from
the show.

Also it's Lindsay, sorry.

They're quite weirdly written. All the characters except
Dexter are extremely two dimensional but as the books are
narrated completely from his viewpoint I think this is a
deliberate way of showing his mental state and detachment.

i was wondering if/when someone was going to mention the
books. I like 'em, especially what happens to Doaks in the
books... The show is great. One of my favorites ever.
Jimmy Smitts is incredible in Season 3. I want to marry
Deborah. Rita kind of sucks. So does her daughter. This &
Curb are my 2 fave shows.

my top5

tho I played quite a lot of episodes at 1.5 speed. in s02
especially - that Lila got on my nerves even more than Rita
heh
