The ancient Greek term for Butterfly is "Psyche". Psyche also means "Soul" in Greek. Half of the butterfly is empty/black and the other half is decorative/white. This is to symbolise the black/white lodges from the series. The red symbolises the "red room" which is made famous in the very last episode of the show. Note that the right side of the butterfly also has a white stroke inside it - this is to symbolise the journey each person must make inside the black lodge (aka hell) before they can reach the white lodge (heaven). You may also spot the Owl Cave logo if you look carefully. |
