Do you ever get the feeling with XLT that it's like "Ok
[begrudgingly] thanks for coming to the site and keeping it
alive but, really we don't want you and would prefer it that
more famous or connected people hung out here. So thanks,
but fuck off".

i guess you lot will do till someone better comes along. i
cry myself asleep wanting to be accepted by the elite.

I'm not bothered at all, the site's just a distraction. But
there is this weird mummsy, chiding, being indulged vibe
here that, frankly, I can't get enough of.

Haha, I am being serious. It's just...weird. You just feel
the seething resentment as Phobia's initial vision slips
further and further away, soundtracked by IDM getting
shitter and shitter and the original plan becoming more and
more muddled. Updates that should take a weekend taking
years.... Why doesn't he just pull the plug? The only way
forward is when the 1989-1994 IDM revival takes place and
this site will be a goldmine of "what twats thought about
music like this at that time (only slightly later)".

while i don't share that conception of the site and phob, i
do get this feeling lately that one day the site could just
be gone for good and that would be that. maybe it's
phobia's ongoing absence. and don't get me wrong, i really
don't want that to happen... but i just get that vibe from
the way things have been the past few months... :(

i really wish that phobia would let some of us help with the
site more. seriously, there are plenty of volunteers
(myself included) that would like to pitch in, get this
stuff underway and see the site realized. that would be
great.

I don't know why you think IDM is getting shitter. Care to
expand on that?

I've heard plenty of great releases in recent times. Plaid,
Squarepusher, Chris Clark (well, I like him) and lots of new
artists too.

team doyobi is the best one lately

I am still happy with autechre´s releases as well as I am
with squarepusher´s huge 2004

despite I love snares I think his best years were 2001-2002,
where imo he was way more groundbreaking than now... but he
is young so he might surprise me again, I still like a lot
his latest releases, but they just dont surprise me that
much

chris clark and richard devine are nice... but they sound
like others

long time since paradinas doesnt release... but he was a
little behind others last time (although I play bilious
paths a lot)

analord is nice, but a weak shadow of what we saw from him
in the mid ninetess... kind of sad

plaid are disappeard since spokes which was poor

brothomstates is another nare I am willing to follow in the
following years

I am sure lfo will still make me freak some other time

I dont really expect any change from boc

orbital are gone (though not idm)

ceephax is nice, but he does acid after all... and acid is
old

something new must happen someday.... and we will be
there... I hope

Oh yes, sure, this is the GOLDEN AGE of electronic music, no
way was better stuff being produced 10 -15 years ago. No,
that would be a LIE.

Why does there have to be this inisitence that music gets
better? It doesn't, it gets shitter and SHITTER and
SHITTER and more watered down and crappy.
