Anyone see this?

Dave Hackett sends in this article from the Daily Telegraph
in Sydney:

"Bus Shelters across Australia are being targeted by a
thieving phantom menace, forcing promoters of the latest SW
movie to pay for the return of the jedi. More than a third
of the posters in bus shelters across the country to promote
AOTC have been stolen by fans in three days. Fans are using
force by smashing the ad shell cabinets and street
furniture. Some 374 of the 940 prize postrs have been stolen
by fans trying to collect all four versions. 20th Century
Fox has been focred to reprint the stolen posters in time
for the premiere next Thursday."

just found this on theforce.net

Star Wars Fan Films on Sci-Fi Channel Tonite
Sun, May 12, 02 11:55:50 AM EDT

Adam T. sends in the following:

Tonight, at 8:00 on the Sci-Fi channel, Kevin Smith is
hosting an hours' worth of fan made Star Wars movies.
Includes animation, computer animation, and I believe some
live action. I would love to see some movies created with
some figures. I'm pretty sure they will be showing shots of
"Clones" as well.

The new star wars looks decent. I'll probly see it just for
the helluv it, even though episode 1 nearly destroyed all of
my confidence in the rest of trilogy.

'fanatical fans' than me, who will dress up in fancy dress.
But I'm just content to see it on its opening night!

Lucas now admits — and he didn't say this in 1999 — that
he was working from a disadvantage with Phantom. Having
chosen to go the route of a prequel set in the distant past,
he couldn't use any of the human cast members of the
original Star Wars trilogy. He had to build the first tale
around 8-year-old Jake Lloyd in the role of doomed hero
Anakin Skywalker, who grows to become the villainous Darth
Vader in later episodes.

"I knew when I did the first film that I was going to be in
trouble," Lucas says. "Because we did our focus tests, we
asked everybody (the fans), and they said, "We do not want
you to start this on Episode I. We want Episode II.'

"But I was saying I have to start at the beginning, because
that's the whole point: It's Episode I. I have to start with
him as a little kid. ... In the end, Episode II doesn't work
as well if you haven't seen Episode I."
