You should add 'Mum' and 'Jan Jelinek' and 'Arovane' and 'Monolake' and 'Dntel' to the list. Also, DJ Shadow isnt really IDM is he? (sorry if this has already been discussed I only skimmed the previous posts.) |

the first 3 i mentioned and matthew herbert, yes. roni size isn't idm, he's more dance-oriented drum 'n' bass... only marginal differences tho nin has done some drum 'n' bass stuff in the past (the perfect drug, starfuckers inc.) and the next album (winter 2002?) is supposed to be very aggressive electronica. dj krush is mostly trip-hop but on his latest (zen) he has 2 or 3 idm tracks and he may do more in the future. organized noize have done some very eccentric and experimental tracks for rappers, i'd count them. timbaland is experimenting but not as much in electronica as ON. i wouldn't count him. from the 2nd list, dj shadow's new stuff is more idm than trip-hop. what's this list for anyway? |
