what are the odds for dj's mixing mp3's? because, obviously the vinyl-industry is kept alive by dj's and when they start to make their mixes at home (traktor) then the end is near.
personally i'm happy with online shops like beatport. i'd rather have a good rip of an old classic than the original ep. and it resolves the distributor-shit too (well, almost). besides, it's cheaper to sell too.

so instead of obscure whitelabels, small niches where people exchange music via the net (myspace?) is the new norm
i can live with that. it totally ruins the trading of limited ep's on ebay too.

The vinyl industry is kept alive by audiophiles, not just DJ's.
And look at punk music. They were still pressing punk records after cd's had supposedly killed vinyl.
