the last install/uninstall wasn't on my own system, but on a better, faster one, so the whole download/install/uninstall took about 4 minutes at most. let's try it on my own system now and see how long it takes. |

you shouldn't have to completely uninstall/reinstall if you're running 1.0 or later (and everything is working the way it should). also, one of the best new features of 1.5 is that it's upgrade capability is VASTLY improved. meaning, it should be much quicker and easier. |

In version 1.5 there is a new option: Help > Check for updates Which will update your extensions, and firefox itself. It will also check automatically from time to time. |

Was the "Check for updates" option available pre-1.5 ? Hmm.. well, I know that before 1.5 you had to download a new version of the entire application, whereas now you will only have to download a small patch and it will all happen much more seamlessly. |

hmm no, your interpretation skills are shot. it's more me reacting to Jason starting to force advice on me while I wasn't even installing firefox to actually use it, let alone wanting any advice. I don't like this rabid aspect of some of the firefox/mozilla followers, it really turns me off on the whole thing. |

yup check for updates was there before, however - i hadn't interpretted what you said as what you then explained it as. Check for updates in previous versions searched for a new, fully-fledged executable. If what you're saying is true, and patches will be distributed, that would be great. |

not really, no... it's like with everything else: to get a skin that actually looks good, you'd have to do it yourself, and that's just too much of a hassle. |
