there is the root of your problem. you want a style of
music to fit your own preferences. that's like telling a
violin player they have to use a guitar pick.

It also says a lot about the mental state of the people
performing death metal.

don't be absurd.

if you don't like this stuff, that's great. go ahead and
say that you don't like it and why. but don't around making
preposterous, uninformed assertions.

you're taking this way too seriously. i'm not angry at you.
i just don't like this sort of elitism that comes with
people not understanding that there are other cultures and
other arts outside of the ones they're familiar with.

I honestly don't. But they're not singing.

Well the genre itself is called "Death metal". What does
that say to you? Then take a look at the band names. The
song titles. The (retarded) lyrics.

They need to grow the fuck up, stop self-indulging and chill
the fuck out. That's just my opinion; there are people out
there who'd love to hang around guys like these, but I
couldn't stand them for more than a minute if this is their
creative output.

And I'm all too familiar with death metal, thanks.

Cookie monster music is usually dreadful. Unless your Chuck
from Death or Mikael from Opeth you should stay away from
growling. Nearly all death metal ive heard over the years
spoil decent songs with growls that destroy the energy in
the song. Like, non stop, no melody, no drops, no nothing.
Just repetitive thrash and killer axeing. Opeth is genius
however.

It's kind of like the problem with emo/screamo/hardcore,
unless your something like From Autumn to Ashes, screaming
incessantly kills the energy. You have to draw energy with
dips and kicks and drops otherwise there is no point.

From Autumn to Ashes? ug.

I thought it works well for Circle takes the square or glass
Jaw.

Screamo is difficult because 80% of the bands can suck my
member. hah

Basically it's not metal, only hard[er] girlie rock , but
they made this one stunning song that makes my heart beat
faster ("Dead boy's poem").

I dont know what is considered metal anymore, but i like
more crazier stuff like this band thenumbertwelvelookslikeyou.
I think they might be doing something with daryl palumbo so
look out for that virginpusher.

i guess some genres of metal can be similar to hardcore idm
like some tracks from Autechre or Venitian Snares or for
exemple the track steinbolt by Squarepusher you know that
part of idm that people always think the cd is skipping but
i dont know what that genre is called exactly

My favourite kind of metal is thrash or speed metal. Slayer
is probably the one metal band that I listen to the most,
and I'd definitely recommend them to you.

ever seen them live? they're a thousand times better in
concert than on the albums. Mandatory suicide and such songs
are wasted amongst album tracks and because of that I can't
stand their LPs.

mylittlesister : download 'Vermillion pt. 2' by
Slipknot if you want something truly unexpected. It sounds
more like an acoustic Nickelback ballad with a grand piano
in the background than the usual singing (or
screaming according to redrum) we've come to expect
from them.

DeleriousWeasel: the only metal show that I have seen is
Rage Against the Machine, once in 1996, and once in 2000.
It's because I'm uncool.

were still making music! they must have been absolutely
incredible live!

Take the Power Back = greatest rap metal song EVER
imo

I would recommend 'The Inalienable Dreamless' by Discordance
Axis. Their 'Pikadourei' DVD is also good, but probably not
so good as an introduction to the band.
