you use a record pressing plant. minimum is 500 copies. the
lowest cost I have seen is about 500 euros for 500 copies
including cd-cases and printed artwork (4 pages - one bit of
glossy paper, 3 or 4 colours).

I'm looking to get my new album pressed at some point. A
friend of mine helped print out the covers and cd art, just
looking at it would make you think its the real deal (- the
barcode and official specs of the cd).

I would only get it pressed if I was confident that not only
it would sell, but also become rare and sought after once I
get on a real label.

"I would only get it pressed if I was confident that not

that, to me, is a really weird reason.

that would be incredibly cheap. which plant was used?

you didn't answer my earlier question - doesn't the label
have a website?

sadly, none are available at the moment :(
my render sizes are always of the highest quality, so
hosting them would either piss of downloaders or not be
aloud on sites.

although once I do get a good number of copies made, I would
exchange it for your new album or we could just buy
eachothers, whatever works. :)

heh, I agree with you since you pointed that out. I do tend
to think ahead of the game with goals too big. Maybe I'm
just confident. After all my sound is signature and the
progress I've made musically is something to be proud of.

on my website.
i wont give the link here in public tho cause of bandwidth
issues,.

okay, here's what I think:

I'm having an increasingly harder time believing a label is
backing you, in fact I find it hard to believe there are a
1000 pressed copies - you're being so vague about the
release and the label.

you're saying there's a label that would be willing to spend
500 euros on your music and they haven't even got a
website?

even though that especially for electronic music internet is
such an important marketplace?

there is no way I can order this cd online except through
e-mailing you? that's just insane and completely
unbelievable.

besides that, I can't find them in any online record label
index that I know of - that doesn't mean they don't exist,
but it is very weird.

its a label of a friend of my moms, he has liek 4 releases,
all of his friends.
he said when he got this release he could be an official
label.

dude, jesus

you are the worst fucking salesperson on the planet, and
assuming you've invested money into the printing of 1000
copies, you honestly have no clue at all.

you're either full of shit, or you're just incredibly
(INCREDIBLY) stupid. if it really is for sale, stop trying
to talk people OUT of buying it; provide information, not
opinions, and stop making excuses up.

if people didn't care before, they care even less now.

it wasnt me, it was someone else who wanted it released.
i just want people to hear the music, regardless of format.

ok, so who has invested the money - you, or them?

if you have - whoa, you're your own worst enemy.

if them - i bet they're pissed you're being so damn evasive
about how to purchase the album, no matter how nice they
are.

Easily the most fucking bizarre thread yet.

I have an album for sale but I don't want you to buy it
because I can make the money back that I didn't put up in
the first place.

Worst. Joke. Ever.

I have to say your Wetware track makes interesting
listening. It certainly has a strong opening and the synths
which kick in after 30 seconds work really well against the
background tune to form a good buildup - its a shame that
you drop them before the main beats begin (maybe you could
find a way of leading one onto the other). The trancy tune
that begins after the first minute isn't anything special
but it is passable and you'd do better to stick with it
rather than keep changing the direction of the music so much
IMO

nice track though, definately your best.

"Showcase" (sales currently -1000) but now it is and I'm
releasing *mumble mumble* an 80 track double cd
entitled *mumble mumble* available from *mumble
