I mean, you have loads of posts hence we must all be thick and don't know what sounds ordinary or what sounds great. No. It doesn't make them stupid or cunts or anything. It means they don't think the track is anything special. And it's really not. After 10+ listens I like it more but it's still nothing special. After 5+ listens of the album, I like some of it more than other parts but ultimately I get this inescapable feeling that it's really ...not all that good, especially after there longest period away from releasing albums in there career. *shrugs* |

assuming leak 1 is not untilted, what would you (as in the people who think leak 1 isnt anything special) think would constitute a good autechre release? would it be more confield, more draft, or something totally new? dont get me wrong, i really like untilted but i think i will like even more when the real deal comes out, if it sounds this good as crap mp3s think of what it will sound like then. untilted is something new as far as i am concerned. |

Untilted is GOOD Autechre. Leak 1 is not GREAT Autechre. "What was I expecting?" I'd hope for more moments of depth, submersion, etc. Perhaps more moments where I am forced to re-listen to portions of tracks, because I found myself more surprised. Typically, I sorta feel like the difference between Draft 7.30/Untilted v.s. something like Confield (which I prefer) is that if you were to take a 30 second snippet out of any part of most of those more recent tracks, it would be entirely representative of the majority of the song. In the case of Confield, I don't think this experiment would apply. The last 2 albums don't seem like they are given much room to breath or mutate. It seems like the ideas just consistent and less generative. |

i liked draft more than confield, the first 5 tracks on draft were autechres strongest, after that it got kind of....pieced together, although track 9 and 10 finished it off proper. but it was a great release, it made my 2003. |

Leak 1 is the promo CD, NOT Untilted, but IS Ae. (Probably made of material post Chiastic, pre Confield?). Doesn't ruin any reputations, still whets appitites, and make fans happy by having even more Ae. This theory makes sense of all possible arguments and logic. Simple. |

leak 1 is the untiled promo cd, it has 8 tracks, with the same names as the 8 tracks that phobiazero said were on untilted - so unless autechre really wants to fuck with people, my money is that leak one is untilted, in fact it is. |
