my sworn enemies at Pitchforkmedia tell me that a
new Kate Bush double album is to be released on the 7th (Europe) and 8th
(US) of november, called "Aerial", with a new single
called "king of the mountain" released on the 24th of
october.

please also read the second paragraph, in which the
Pitchfork writer tries to defend this bit of news appearing
on their hallowed hipster pages anyway..

I read your post about that and i am interested in seeing
it. I didnt read the rest of this thread and i have no idea
who she is. Infact i went straight to the page before this
to see why it was bumped and now infact it has sparked my
interest.

Ah... Kate Bush... one of my all time, longest-running
favourites... How come I never saw this thread before? I
think my favourite album is her first. Just packed full of
Kate's charm and top pop tunes. Her most acomplished one I
think is the Dreaming, even though I end up listening to the
first one more. I wasn't keen on the post-Sensual World
releases however... they seemed to be lacking something.

well to be honest, I feel kind of iffy about this double
album.. I just hope she has progressed, not really in a
songwriting capacity but more in sound and productionwise,
like the leap she started with "the dreaming" and finished
with "hounds of love".

"the red shoes" had a few okay songs but just sounded dated
even for the early '90s when it came out.

also.. a double album.. always tricky to pull off.

I agree with you on those doubts. I hope she's going for
doing something she wants to do rather than doing something
because of pressure or financial need (though that seems
less likely). I don't think I even have the Red Shoes any
more... I had a copy on tape. That said I do have a couple
of EPs from it, one of which has "December Will be Magic
Again" which is magic.

All this has made me dig out "the Dreaming" again...

I pull out the plank
and say thank you for yanking
me back
to the fact
that there's always something to distract

The way she sings it makes it all worthwhile... classic.

No clue. I thought this was about one of the presidents
daughters.

she is a great artist. it's especially impressive to see how
much influence she's had with the small amount of albums she
has put out.

"the dreaming" is a big turningpoint. even a strange song
like "there goes a tenner" (which even was a single, for
some reason) is interesting. everything on that album is
truly.. untilted.

I'm currently listening to Wuthering Heights and it's saying
something that it still affects me now the same way it did
when I first heard it aged about 8 or 9.

Though I wouldn't miss the guitar solo at the end, to be
honest :)

You have David Gilmour to thank for that solo, who
incidentally, discovered the Bush. Props to me main man
Dave!
