Who says I'm associated with anything detroit-wise?

I only got into electro 5years ago, i wasn't around for
early 90s.

Jivver, where / when did I put off that presumption?

an illness of sorts! Cheer up everyone!

Pandas get terribly depressed, or so i hear. If they ever
get wind of weatheredstoner saying they're just making it
up, i hope they stick bamboo up his arse till he recants.

LOL, you take pot shots at me, yet how the fuck do you know
that pandas get depression? If they do, its like I said, its
a result of your surroundings, and lately pandas haven't had
the best living conditions so I cant blame them for being
depressed. Then again I dont see anyone giving pandas prozac
to cope with it.

stroke my wiener.

Yes they probably get depressed because of their
surroundings, it doesn't mean that it's not an illness
though does it? I get food poisoning when i eat your mum's
flapjacks, because I know what caused doesn't negate its
existance. Some people are paralysed by depression, some
people lack the strength to just shake it off, run in the
park and set up an internet record label. Some people have
it very badly and need medication. You, my friend, sound
like you had a case of "the blues" and I am glad you
shrugged it off, but don't dismiss what other people suffer
with just because you haven't got a fucking clue what you're
on about, that's called being an arrogant prick.

Again, I'm no expert, but that kind of depression sounds
like a side effect of a more deeply rooted psychosis. Its
like the depression is the result of something way more dark
and disasterous. That kind of thing definately needs to be
taken on a more serious level.

Well yeah, i allready apologized a few posts back. What I
said in the first thread was really crappy mainly because I
generalized, but I honestly believe there are a ton of
people out there who 'think' they have a true illness, when
in fact they dont. Again, I refer to other peoples posts to
try and clarify this. I wish we had an 'edit' button around
here sometimes.

Yes, don't leave you big nob. A lot of people do suffer I
think these days, I don't know if it's more common than
before. But the thing is people do genuinely suffer, and
what makes it worse is there's no proper support for it.
Mental illness is very much a taboo. I remember lying on the
bed, looking out the window being frightened of the trees, I
could rationalise it, I could tell myself to stop being a
dickhead, but at the same time I felt a mortal terror of the
trees, swaying in the wind. I didn't take any meds, and it
was only by being able to suspend belief that I got through
the weirdest, grimmest, darkest nights of the soul. I was so
low I would bounce up and down, agoraphobia, intrusive
thoughts, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, alienation of
the self. Many times I would just break down and cry, unable
to put up with it, but I knew I only had it mild, other
people had it worse and they carried on. Yes I had a shit
job, yes I probably ate unhealthily and drank too much, but
suddenly having your brain kicked through your arse seemed a
heavy price to pay. And for that reason I am a bit sensitive
to these "oh get over it" type of statements, not that you
said it like that but, you know, in general.

I think I'm going to look into Prozac soon. I'm happy as a
teddy bear right now, but when I go back to work, my spirit
is going to be pincered to death once again. Does it have
any negative effects on you? If yes, do you give a shit?

And in a year, I'll be going back to school. Does anyone
know any good drugs to take care of ADD-like symptoms? I've
totally lost the ability to study. If I can't take pleasure
in it, I don't want to do it.

Indeed, depression IS an illness. In my own experience,
antidepressants' "blanking" effects can be almost as bad
though. Changing your habits or whatever doesn't help if you
are actually clinically depressed. I've broken down crying
in the street because i needed a shit and i was too scared
to use a public toilet before i was prescribed Dem Pillsz...
how the fuck would changing circumstances help?

right. if you're depressed, you feel you have no control
over your feelings anyway, let alone the power to change
anything.

i just read this entire thread...woops big mistake (my brain
is numb)

I have manic depression, it runs in the family. My
grandmother had it, my sister had it when she was a teenager
(but then once her life fell apart she grew out of it...go
figger), and I have it. It sucks because not only do I have
the chemical "disease", I also have other issues such as
extreme anxiety, abandonment, intrusive thoughts, and
sometimes panic attacks in which I simply fall unconscious.
(Has that ever happened to anyone else, the falling
unconscious thing? I've yet to meet anyone else.) Its
funny, (well not really) when I was really ready to kill
myself and I had the gun all ready and I was about to go for
it, I passed out from a panic
attack...blablanoonecaresblablabla
