Defending The War In Iraq

If there is one thing I have learned in life. Canadians hate
America. I imagine Norway is quite beautiful. I'd love to
visit and most people in the US with half a brain know that
Europe isn't communist. Socialism sounds great, as long as
it isn't corrupt and abused. In the US it would get abused
to fuck. You can believe it.

and the reason Americans hate the idea of socialism is
because we hate how inefficient and bloated our government
is already. Just try calling an agency and getting someone
on the phone. Or finding out where exactly the buck stops,.
It doesn't. Our goverment is a labyrinth of do nothing
jobs. Socialism would just get ass fucked in the US by
corruption.

I'm so sorry, it meant to read "pawns" instead of puppets.
My bad.

copied from elusives iraqi photo's thread RE: people taking
saddam's side over america's:

"Source? (lol should go into other thread)"

i was really just exagerating to make a point... but, people
seem quick to compare bush to hitler and whatnot, and
downplay the fact that saddam was a teribly dangerous and
opressive leader.

i recognise that this is a gross oversimplification, and it
wasn't really meant to be a point for debate... i was just
illustrating the point that many people feircely hate our
current president.

:)

I honestly love hearing people compair Bush to Hitler.

Sigh,

What ignorance.

Oh, and while we're on the subject, if we really are going
to Iraq for oil, how come gas is to be at its all time high
this summer? (stated earlier, no replies on it yet).

Epohs,

It's good, I think, for our current state, to actually hear
people step up and take on the President.

It makes me feel good that we still live in the type of
democracy where doing so won't get you a bullet in the head
(read: hmmm, countless other countries?).

---That comment was offtopic and could open up a new can of
worms, so please disregard it; just something I wanted to
point out.

until we can get the oil flowing in iraq OPEC still controls
the price of oil.

last i heard the infrastructure for oil distribution in iraq
was still fucked. but, i may be way off the mark there.

i'd say prices will prolly stay pretty high even if we do
start getting iraqi oil... it'll just be american corps
gouging us instead of the OPEC mafia... but, i may be way
off the mark there too.

it's not really the american public that worry me so much as
the leaders of many other countries... especially the ones
that used to be strong allies.

i think bush has gotten quite the big head in his tenure
behind the wheel of the most powerful nation on the third
rock... and, i think that's really dangerous now that we're
fighting a global guerilla war, where strong allies are a
must.

eh its not like I dont have good reasons for hating the
states, ive been there many times for long periods of time
the US is fine, its the government and a lot of the
mentalities of people there, not all.... no no.

You cant compare Bush to Hitler- Hitler had a brain and a
plan and even though he was completely psycho, he actually
thought he was doing good by his people. Bush on the other
hand is a dopey, self-serving, frat-boy wanna be. Wanna
know why the price of gas is so high? Cus he wants it that
way- more money for his Saudi friends and the schmoes at
the refineries in Tex-Ass. Wanna know the real reason we're
in Iraq? Its because after Bush got done raping his own
folks here at home with tax cuts for his rich buddies, he
mooved on to loot Iraq.

Im all for the war on terrorists and I'd be first in line to
shave the scrotums in preparation for the electrodes of SOME
of those fucks in Guantanamo, but the way this Dick-brained
yahoo is running our coutry, we are breeding more
terrorists by the minute. Sadam had all the nasty little
Hobbitses in his country under very tight control and then
we came in and turned them all loose- smart move!

Who profits:

oil glug glug cheney

here's the page with the search on it relating to oil...

Oil speculation

War is big business if you are a miltary contractor

America is nearly bankrupt; thanks to the tax cuts for
big business so steal some oil or exploit a
developing country and flood 'em with cheap imports...

-I love my freedom in America

as do i but im not ignorant and thus feel that its only
protected by blowing shit up

-President Bush is doing a great job

wrong, simply, just wrong - the dollar is worth less, jobs
are scarce, and attacks keep occuring to our allies - doesnt
sound good to me

-Nothing is banned in the states, like In canada a video
game was banned and that doesnt happen here

wrong - european things are banned her - eg. movies (eyes
wide shut for content) - the strokes LP (ommitted the NYC
cops track due to 9.11) - bad examples but examples
none-the-less

-large american corporations that have ties with bush and
cheany (*gasp!*) set up shop in foreign countries and make
america money

true indeed - we cherish exploitation and cheap labor -
figurative we

-america has been bombing the middle east for a long long
time,to no avail

true, we've been bombing w/o saying for quite a while now -
to no monetary avail

-the president has outright lied many times, only to be
proven this days later when news stories broke out

yep, he's a liar - like all "good" americans - one of which
i do not consider myself

-in canada we have more relaxed laws to just about
everything, and our government is more democratic than the
states's government, and we dont need to kill people for
our
freedom...

haha - see above - we're very dictorial-o-cratic i think

-there was one of the largest protests of our time EVER in
iraq protesting the war there, but america did it
anyway.....

you mean war or protest? - the people of american dont
matter anymore so protesting is pointless - the person in
office didnt win the majority of the pop votes so voting is
obviously rendered useless - and war will happen whenever
and WHERE EVER there is money to be made that can end up in
white boring american assholes' pockets - trust in that
fact

i said it before and i'll say it again
fuck america
ive been here for 22 years (my whole life)

And seeing as how I am 20 years old, and you claiming to be
22....what the fuck man, we are still young adults.

We don't have anywhere near the experience to fully
offer our opinions on the subject at hand.

Any opinion you have now could be the inverse of the one you
will have in 5 or so years.

It's fun to spark debate though. :)

Internet perceptions usually lead to uttar, disappointment.

What really starts to change your views is when you pay
taxes for years and see that you are just lining the pockets
of the bastards that are cutting your throat. At least
Clinton made big business pay its fair share. The only
thing Gee-Dub-ya figured out to help the economy was keeping
social security solvent for a few more years by totally
shit-canning the economy so old-folk's 401k's evaporated and
they couldnt afford to retire and collect their SS benifits-
really quite brillian- so much so that I'm sure it was an
accident, but I give credit where it is due.

I know that just before the elections everything will come
to a head. Everything will be perfect. They'll get Bin
Laden, economy will sky rocket, Jobs will be had by all,
global warming will be reversed. Those fuckers. If any of
that shit happens I'll know they rigged it.

The economy started to tank in '99 (the bubble). I was
there. When Bush was President elect. Not to defend Bush,
but it was on Clintons watch. And so was terrorism. Hello,
Clinton had eight years to nip it in the bud. What the fuck?
And where's our free health care Clinton?

It's sad to think that the American people are dumb enough
to vote for that asshole if he just pulls Osama out of his
fucking hat at the last moment, but I fear you are right. I
dont see the economy rebounding any time soon though. Ohio
has lost 225,000 jobs in the last 2 years and I dont see
them coming back in the next 8 months.

you should try communism... you have enough money to make it
last for four years even if it fails... it isn't very likely
to fail, though, 'cause america has VAST natural
resources...

Socialism wouldn't be too bad, but I think it works better
in smaller countries.Simply because of the logistics
involved. Plus, Americans don't have a borg mentality. More
Rugged individual. It would get abused. Communism is a bit
Orwell. Plus, we have all our white guilt programs to worry
about as it is.

The tech bubble might of started to burst under Clinton, but
he didnt set the frigging house on fire by emptying the
treasury with tax cuts- he handed GW the biggest budget
surplus of all time.

And as far as terrorism, its true the sudan was going to
hand over bin laden, but Clinton did not want to inflame
relations at that time no one could of forseen 9-11
happening. And he would of definitely not attacked Iraq.
However, he probably would of banged a few fat chicks in the
oval office... Hillary tried health care and the
republicans crucified her, but now that everyone is haveing
to pay for their own anyway and seeing what a rip it truly
is, I think nationalized health care will have a chance
under the next administration.

As for communism- I like my petty materialistic objects way
too much for that!

As an American I would have to agree- we are very sheep
like.

I would have to say that on the whole, however America is a
fantastic place to live. Especially since all the terrorism
is currently happening in Europe.
